Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ACS IoT tomers were really getting fed up with India support model and were already shopping other companies that had recruited American talent.

Are you like racist by design or is it only towards Indians.

@c1 The customers both internal and, external, are tired of the BELLIGERENT treatment they keep getting from the Russian contingent on the IoT teams. They want help not ridicule!

That’s because somebody figured out that all the “things” need power and a processor of some kind. They break and who wants to have to keep buying a sensor or tag and having to have someone pair it?

@aw The reality is that the old business model sold customer platform management as a loss leader to entice companies to pay for their over priced connectivity. That is where they made up the loss. Flash forward, T executed the platform management so poorly with all the India outsourcing that customers wised up and moved to other leased line and other type of connectivity providers that where more realistic in their connectivity prices. We sold all the Data Centers that we had spun up in the early 2000, and Stanley didnt see the value and sold them off. Now datacenter floor space is at a major premium and the only thing we can raise prices on is the consumer part of the business. Prior to being laid off after 25 years, I see no change in leadership and suspect the company will continue to falter. Sure they can do some buy backs but honestly with the debt load and limited paths out of this mess the company is only buying time. They're are still enough consumer customers with their he'd in the sand and "think" there is value in service. The reality is if they just opened their eyes they could cut their mobile bill in half and save in excess of a thousand dollars a year in their family budget. As the economy gets tighter and tighter, more and more customers will shop value and see how much T has taken them for.

We should never have adopted WING. Nokia was tired of using it, so AT&T bought it! We haven't dedicated enough to get it working!!
