Received the 1st payslip after layoff on 07/24, but its not on the Echostar+Hughes company official letterhead though.
@1ke DMV is full of stale old style boomer companies
last friday, Fannie Mae in VA also laid off 700+ people - they paid One month salary plus two weeks salary (i.e. one paycheck) for every year employed at the company - Hughes could have done that, - would have helped many long timers ... on the flip side DMV is getting flooded with job seekers :-(
@e6, there was no thought about the employees. The ONLY reason we got the 2 months severance was to avoid the WARN notice, thus maintaining the value of the company.
Whoever is left will be lucky to get even that.
2 months till Sept 22nd ... just before my Oct 1st vesting :-(
In the last round, I got three weeks and a lecture about how generous that was
2 months. That is what I got. 2 months. Insurance for those two months, then to cobra which is 2300 for me (family of 5)
