Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Performance based RSU?

The new 12k grant - Is that just for 2027 with 3 year vesting? It better be every year.

Rather than increasing salaries to allow for a permanent annual cost-of-living adjustment, which has been asked at every all-hands for years, they're dangling these RSUs as paltry scraps in front of us to make us feel like we're being offered something of value. Sprint, I mean T-Mobile, only cares about their bottom line like any other corporation, and they think we'll be blinded by the number 12K. They know the returns on RSUs aren't that much after taxes, especially with the fall from $270/share, and most people will end up liquidating them for their own expenses.

Also, not sure why my post was removed from before other than New Sprint not wanting people to hear the truth.

If I was still there, this still would not be enough to keep me from quitting. Slave away for another 5 years with the hope of getting it in the future? No way. You would have to provide significant cash money now, which they won't do. The company performance portion of the bonus is going change to help pay for this. I feel bad for anyone who falls for it.

"a significant portion will vest in 2030" per the Pulse article.

Sounds like a one off. Maybe even a retention style bonus to get people the stay.

Sounds like instead a raise they are introducing this…not sure….they could say easily like one time thing but they didnt…
I believe will be like on the review they will evaluate if will get the 12k or not….in like 3years???lol…
Question is what they will do with our bonus that is already a company perf related….any ways….is something….

I’ve been out on leave. It sounds like they’re changing our RSU structure or is this a new additional RSU opportunity? Thanks for getting me up to speed.

@abf
Insults and invective haven’t worked for over 5 years; you are beating a dead horse. We’ve all learned a lot about human psychology since 2020- you are trying to protect your self-image by lashing out. Plus, you have been expertly programmed: Ignore the horrors, always attack the victims, and protect the guilty.

No one will be around to collect, which is why it starts in January. Also, it’s a cheap way to lower next RSU distribution with further cuts. Since you get your next vesting during a cut, this will lead to folks getting like a 1-2k payout over previous vest. Smoke and mirrors.

Are they giving the unjabbed back theirs? When they fired them they stole their RSUs, ya know.

I love how much we get paid and all the bonuses and perks, yet @op demands a new bonus be paid annually. Dude. Take the free cash.

Check your email. It reads like a one time thing. More details by end of year.

@OP

"It better be every year."

Or else?

I took it as it’s just a one-time payment spread out of several years, but they’re gonna have hard time waiting til January to explain. There’s going to be a ton of questions until then

12K is about 66 shares at current price. Spread that out over 2 years, losing 1/3 for taxes. 4 distributions less than 2K each one.

I’m sure there will be many strings attached and many ways to reduce the actual payouts. Nice way to make a big announcement but not really committing the money.
