VSP packages ?

Hello friends. Anyone have information on current VSP packages in the US, or if any are being offered at all?

So yes you get 2 months cobra, after 2 you will pay for it on ur own dime. It's heinously expensive. That being said, Obama care was just freaking ridiculous they base of what your salary was not what it is now total bs! After 10 years it's still one week per year.

@eb …. The layoff package is not the same thing as a vsp, which hasn’t been offered in the US for years and is unlikely to be again.

That said, I am curious about what you said about cobra. After a layoff, is it available for longer than 2 months? Say you get an additional 10 weeks for 10 years…do you also get cobra paid for that full additional 10 weeks? I always thought no, but would be interested to know if I’m wrong.

I was told by one vp: "I don't know if anyone that has asked for a package that hasn't been able to get it". so there's your answer, just ask. what's the worst thing that happens if he says no, they think you're a flite risk? that's fine, they try to retain your with more money? that's fine. also just put it in writing after the conversion so I'm the event he did a pip close after, you have documentation that it was retaliatory which if you explain that to HR, trust me you are completely covered on that front. there's really no risk in asking if that's what your want. job market is rough right now so be sure

Where do you live that they are offering VSP. I haven't heard of that in the US for years.

It is the same package as what has been offered before. Two months base plus a week for every year of service. COBRA benefits for that total number of weeks.

@OP Nah, it's much cheaper for Dell to make life a living he-l for you to get you to quit on your own.

When the labor market is literally in the gutter, in what reality would Dell offer VSPs? You're nothing but cattle. The KPIs will increase until you're gone
