Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

They won’t pay you. So lawyer up now if you think you have a leg to stand on. And PS- you do. Dell withheld comp, withheld data, and cut thousands of people during this time of no visibility to sales performance. Now, you’re left to trust the people who threw you out.

Don’t trust. Don’t wait for data. Build a case much greater than the actual dollars.

@1dg I don’t have an ADP notice. I should get a draw even though I don’t work there anymore.

Commission is payable tomorrow. Paystubs are out on ADP. It was a draw. LOL

HR closed the case and simply said, "Payroll does not have access to your sales record or SCORE and unable to assist with sales commission information."

The last line got me though.

"We hope you were delighted by the service you received."

Granted I was laid off in August of 2023 but I didn't get my severance (was 6 months of full pay thanks to many years of service) until early October. I finally get my severance 6 weeks after being laid off and then randomly in December I got a random commission check from Dell for like 9k out of nowhere.

I feel like eventually they pay up when their books get audited but i could be wrong. Maybe I misread something in my package. Maybe that gives you a little hope.

So what does this mean for people who have been let go? On the hook until November? This sc--ws with unemployment in some states too. If you're on unemployment, and you get paid (even if it was money owed from months ago), it can stop your UI payments.

Not according to the HR rep I spoke to yesterday. Comp team is not committing to that.

Been told Hit 90% of my number but will still be in payback! Not sure how Dell math works but it is not for the sales rep

Don't expect a payout for Q3 before holidays, the settle will be paid after the holidays this year. Go Dell!

From what I understand, Q2 commission will be paid at the end of September.

They're not going to pay. They're opting for you to go after them legally. Their bean counters figure they will come out on top that way.

Not sure how your contract is worded. In some regions Dell pays the commission at will and they can decide when and in what extent they actually pay you. They can in theory cap you at 0% and there is little you can do.

In this regards the word unfair seems like a massive understatement.

In other news there still does not seem to be a date set when this will be paid out.
