@my If you have 25 or more years and you work in Mobility, the pension is only about $300k to $350k which is about $2300 monthly for single. Less if you choose to leave some for you beneficiaries! It's something, but not much. Lump sum make be your better route.
@jy Pension is NOT fully guaranteed, if T would completely go belly up -- which thankfully is unlikely.
" The PBGC guarantee has a maximum limit. If your promised pension is higher than the federal cap, you could receive less if the plan fails." But most remaining, unclaimed T pensions are far below the PBGC limit. So, you good.
Pension is guaranteed. Great to shed dead weight that doesn't even understand how her pension works...
@av yes, took about 6 weeks once requested, rolled right into an Ira.
