For those of you that have analyzed the PIL language or had a lawyer review the language, were any dealbreaker clauses found?
Is it worth signing to get 3 months of salary?

If a lawyer ever looked at the facts behind all of this they would recommend you not sign and sue. MLRP is simply our way of layoffs without separation payment
@m1 Do we assume that you didn't sign the PIL and took the PIP and waited the 3 months while still getting paid and with benefits? Or did you just take the new job and didn't get anything?
I ended up declining my PIL after having my lawyer review it. He actually said it was one of the most favorable ones he's read and that there wasn't really anything that raised flags, but for reasons I can't disclose here (that won't apply to 99.9% of people who would be signing a PIL) he told me not to sign it. Bottom line - its actually pretty favorable and most shouldn't have a problem signing it.
The biggest thing to be aware of is that benefits are supposed to stop once you get a new job (of course - you have to let them know). I already actually had a job lined up pretty soon after I left so if I followed it to the letter, I wouldn't have gotten much anyway.
@f3 you sound like a very smart person, great advise. Thank you
Great way to get yourself fired. Emails sent to external addresses are the #1 monitored item in IT.
@ap People email their files, documents, work to their personal laptop and use their own laptop (it's faster!). XOM IT ?!!
Not HR, just wanting comments from others considering the PIL.
You must be a H/R or a Government and Public Affairs (PG&A) employee that is trying to get people to stop publishing the "Real ExxonMobil" on TheLayoff.com
Most if not all college graduates working for ExxonMobil know what is "public domain" and "what is proprietary and confidential" on social media.
ExxonMobil SCARE TACTICS no longer work in the digital age.
If you are not disclosing "proprietary and confidential information" you can post on social media statements that are "true".
Fake news. If you are using a VPN site, ExxonMobil cannot track your postings on TheLayoff.com
@ap Very unlikely. Though some people have left more than enough information to least narrow down their location and team, and in some cases quite a bit more.
@az Amen brother! Truth!
This company does not employ a functional IT department, can't maintain its own intranet pages, tools and databases yet they are data mining a third party website? K
@ap cool story bro
@a2 EM is tracking this site and knows exactly who is posting every comment
Has the PIL language always been the same? Or changed this year ?
The non disparagement clause seems to indicate EM can stop all benefits if you post on this website, even if the statement is true.
