Got an invite, so did about 500 others I saw - CEO in Center Valley....for.....what? There's like no one in that building let alone we have like half of the third floor or something, right? So whats he really doing? Closing shop?

I worked with some really good HP folks in SD. Last I heard was that the site was going to be permanently closed this October after it was sold to Apple.

Tried to contact some folks but emails inactive. Just curious.

I used to work there but was let go in 2020. While looking at the site, I noticed on Google Maps that the El Segundo office is marked as 'Temporarily closed,' and I didn’t see it listed on Teradata’s website. Has that office been shut down?

Revvity Inc., a biomanufacturing company, is closing its South End facility in Boston and laying off all 74 employees at the site. The layoffs are expected to be completed by the end of the year, with a WARN notice filed with the state of Massachusetts indicating the layoffs will occur between November 1, 2025, and August 31, 2028.

The company, headquartered in Waltham, has not given a specific reason for the closure. This move follows a period of business realignment and cost management for the company, which recently lowered its outlook due to policy changes in China.

When is Des Moines being shuttered, and why is it taking so long?

Des Moines was previously identified as a 'specialty' (i.e. not go-forward) location.

Surely someone knows something.

The mortgage operations could easily be shifted to other sites, so that can't be it. Not to mention that the CEO plainly stated that mortgages aren't this bank's future.

I was a victim of the layoffs today at JRC. And I don't understand why management is not telling the truth about another round of layoffs in November. An employee in HR told me two weeks ago that FE/RDXT is closing down in November. And when I call another employee in a different area, he said the same thing. They just don't know if they want to lay them off or move them. If you look at the order book, all of the orders stop in October. The manager told everyone that there area wasn't involved in this round. Why isn't he being truthful. The even put a new PGL in there, just to have the area close down. All of these guys lives are being impacted by lies.

For those that were there, what did Rob Thomas say about RTP?
Did he say anything about how the RTP main site just closed?

Got wind from AMER manager that its apparantly got to do with the minimum wage increase introduced by Egyptian government back in March of this year. Anyone else heard anything?

When a company states that it will expand its footprint in an area with a new facility and consolidate 2 sites (Emeryville and San Diego) into one single research site, then something has to give. It won't be the leadership, but everybody else will be on the chopping block in 18-24 months. It is going to be painful for Novartis folks in California!

Shell is shutting down Volta, the EV charging and media network it bought in 2023 for $169M. The company will dismantle more than 2,000 charging stations this year and lay off around 190 employees.

Volta’s model combined EV charging with ad screens to generate extra revenue, but it was losing about $140M annually and couldn’t meet sales targets. Shell reportedly tried to sell the business but found no buyer.

The decision marks a shift in Shell’s EV strategy toward high-speed charging at its own branded stations and hubs, rather than maintaining a separate ad-driven network.

Does renovations like replacing bad carpet and other neglected parts of the store mean that the store is safe? I only ask this question even though it seems like an obvious answer because I’ve seen and heard reports or closure rumors of stores with these said renovations.

I mean financially it doesn’t make sense to me to put money into a store that you’re going to close anyway…
