Productivity is down 87%, but morale is at an all-time high.

HR: “Why is everyone working outside?”

Employees: “We’re embracing the company’s return-to-office initiative.”

HR: “Why is there a grill?”

Employees: “Team building.”

I’ve been here a good number of years and feel such a lack in company sponsored retreats, team bonding events etc. I haven’t even experienced a real company year end dinner. All I get every year is more work. And I was on a call with a VP that said don’t expect any budget for year end event this year. Not that we ever had one.

Just read this... it's giving "waffle party" energy from severance. They really think going out for coffee is going to make us ok with going in five days per week? Do they think we're stupid?

I'm asking because I dread any team-building experiences and apparently I'm a minority in that. I wonder what other people see as horrible that I might see as perfectly normal.
