Its clear to see with how easy people are jumping to conclusions just how broken this company is. Constantly having to wonder will you be next. Dreading announcements, dreading town halls - its a slow, exhausting and emotional mental game. This... — read more
If it’s just a re-org, why did senior management need to meet with federal ministers?
The rumours swirling here mostly don’t seem to discuss major sale of assets, but I don’t see why they would be meeting with federal ministers if there wasn’t something bigger than an office relocation in the works.

Sale is unlikely. Polaris project - employee reduction is believable
Would be hard to believe there is a sale of a 145 year old company. But a Polaris project employee reorganization (reduction) is more likely. My guess, if you don’t need to physically turn the pipe. Your job will be sent elsewhere. Good luck... — read more
One tenant for QP
Kiewit employees in Calgary have been told they are moving into QP office sometime soon. I am guessing they will take West or North building. Kiewit is small enough in Calgary to fit in one building.

We are all assuming Sept 29 is big announcement day. I haven’t gotten mine yet. Maybe other business units got theirs.
I, for one, would actually prefer to be laid off
With a decent severance to bridge me over, I’d take it. I’ve had enough of this company. After some time here you eventually hit a wall without even realizing it, and there’s no real path forward after that. The job market isn’t great right now, but... — read more
September 29 or October 1st Announcement?
What’s with the rumours of upcoming announcements on either Sept 29 or Oct 1? The amount of layoffs, sell off, rumours is nuts.
OK! Who is buying
Imperial isn’t doing anything amazing right now. I know the ins and outs of IOL, and there is nothing new to push the stock price so high and so fast. Now the question is who is buying IOL?? ExxonMobil is not taking over for sure, because they will... — read more

Was it just me or our salary treatment this year significantly falling behind that of XOM. Salary budget increase for MPT is 2% this year, significantly lower than the numbers disclosed in the XOM salary treatment thread.

Imperial Oil - What is the Big Plan
I left IOL few years ago. I am very happy to see the share price rise so nicely. So, I reached out to 4 of my old buddies in IOL to find out how it is going. What I found it really scary. The culture had gone downhill when I left, but seems like it... — read more
