How astonishingly cheap has Imperial Oil’s management become that they expect employees to bring their own lunch while celebrating one billion barrels produced at Kearl. Fifty billion dollars in potential revenue, and the big reward is… packing your... — read more
Senior Manage stays in Calgary
I heard that “key” management personnel who interface with the industry in Calgary (i.e. Petroleum Club) will remain in Calgary. I wonder where they will have their office!! 🧐. And, who are these people?? 🥸
How much is your formal notice before termination date and are they deducting that notice from your lump sum severance ?
If you got 8 weeks notice was your severance package 18 months less 8 weeks? Is anyone getting longer formal notice? Did anyone get like 6 months formal notice so that severance was significantly reduced ? (18 months, less 6 months ?)
missing saving account payroll deduction
Did anyone notice that the last cycle saving account contribution didn't get credited to your sunlife account? Isn't this stuff supposedly regulated and a company could be penalized for error, like some type of interest/missing opportunity cost.
NSI ahead of termination date
Anyone get NSI ahead of their termination date?
IRP is unproductive

End Date
If you were given a quarter in 2027 for termination, are people receiving the official termination letter already, months in advance? I heard it was because they are ahead of the game, even though the quarter in 2027 is not changing. Seems... — read more
Edmonton Job Postings
Nothing makes me feel better than seeing job postings for roles in head office that are in Edmonton. So many people have said no to relocation they have no choice but to go external. The institutional knowledge loss will be huge.
It's like a sitcom
A (now former) colleague of mine was featured in promotional LinkedIn post celebrating how great they are. Same person was laid off the very next day in the name of the Canada Transformation. You can't make it up.
After receiving NSI - is there a PIL option at Imperial?
In the US (for ExxonMobil), the PIL option seems to be three months. Is it the same for Imperial (Canada) or do they have to offer more, especially if you have 20 or 30 years service?
We care about our people 🙄
Hearing there are folks who accepted a move to Edmonton and had been planning for the move. Then to have Imperial pull their offers and gave them an end date. What a slap in the face.
True or Not that imperial is being sued
The rumor is that Imperial is being sued by some of the expats forced back? True or false?
Severance condition
In the communication, the condition of receiving of your severance is a good standing: What does it actually mean? Let's say your performance is degrading and you get thrown to NI/NSI pile, what more can the company do? Getting rid of you sooner?... — read more
“Future-State Employees” Club Networking Session is just plain cringe
As someone who wasn’t affected by this transformation, I find this little gathering cold and heartless. The photo op from the smiling executive team is like pouring salt into an open wound. Didn’t they admit morale was low? This event and... — read more
Chevron had PDS until the employees stood up for themselves and forced it out!
All it takes is everyone or the majority saying they will not be participating in it anymore and there is nothing they can do. They can't NSI everyone! Spread the word and make them stop!

What do you do with your retirement?

Everything seems to be humming along fine??
Despite all the doom and gloom , departure, supposedly degradation of of support and other generally depressing moral, I feel that everything is business as usual. Am I missing something? I'm in product solutions or global ops now.
