Loyal US Foods associate

Dear leaders.

All of these complaints being posted in the open for all to see is embarrassing and preventable. I love and appreciate US Foods who hired me over 20 years ago and is the only company I have worked for outside of a couple small ones. I have raised kids while working here and made friends along the way. I have reached a level within the company where I lead other associates.

My team opened up during a team meeting and they concerned about reporting issues internally and shared this site with me. I spent the better part of the morning reading all of these comments. The articles of one of our newer leader was one of their main concerns. Having met him briefly, I now understand why I had a bad feeling when we spoke and why I did not see him as a good fit for our lovely company. He was smug and a know it all who made comments about what he inherited and some of what he had to do since being here which I felt was inappropriate and which I won't report here because I am old school and don't think his comments belong here. Like them, I don't want to call our compliance hotline because it may get back to him and he seems to be the type to lie and take matters into his own hands. His past shows that, and yet knowing it is out in the open, he remains in a trusted role here.

But reading these posts are hurt me deeply. I ask that our leaders consider clearing the hurdle that is forcing our associates to place our dirty laundry in the public. This can have a negative effect on our associates and customers. It seems to already have and what will come out next. As a faithful leader of this company, I ask our ELT to put the wellness of our associates and trust of our customers first and remove the barrier so our associates and I can once again speak our concerns internally where it belongs and stop hurting our progress as a company. This is embarrassing and must end.

I am confident that IT and our Operations leaders in Montgomery are doing the right things to protect us and that they would let us know if there was a danger in either incident. But when you read these boards, it generates fear and distrust and subsequently causes our associates to flood external sites and fill our customers ears with negative publicity. I urge you to take the only action that would return us to the company I have known for years.

A faithful but worried leader of US Foods

Gartner had mass layoffs across their Talent Acquisition org today

A Message from Andy Obert: SVP Talent Acquisition

Team,

As you know well, the macroeconomic environment remains volatile and complex. As a result, we’ve reduced hiring across the company in line with our current revenue and our near-term growth aspirations.

Recruiting top talent remains a critical capability for long-term growth; however, we must take decisive action to realign Talent Acquisition’s capacity with Gartner’s current hiring plans.

As a result, we have made the decision to eliminate some roles in TA. Impacted associates will be notified today, 30 September.

I will be in touch later today once this process has been completed.

Today will be challenging for all of us. Thank you for being considerate and supportive of each other.

Andy

Living the well life

Corporate Communications sent an email to our location today asking for us to send in submissions about how we’re living the WELL life at Wells Fargo.

Really? You ask this now?

Even if you think those of us upset about the 8 hour thing are being whiny, you have to admit that sending out something asking us for a testimonial about the great Wells Fargo RIGHT NOW is pretty laughable.

Chief Corporate Affairs Officer out!

Announced via internal email by the old boss. Wondering if this was a condition for the new bosses arrival? Any smart financial leader worth their salt would look at the billions in lost market share due to a crisis of their own making and realize this needed to be done.

Honestly it surprised me it took this long, they presided over one of the most epic PR failures of modern time. It’ll be studied in communications classes for years to come. No cake at this going away party. Nobody “retires” in their late forties.

Pepsi Largest Mishap in some time.....

Pepsi has struck again! It seems that Frito managed the change with the job titles in the proper manner. Meetings and communication were had. But, then there is Pepsi who just dropped the bo-b and everyone woke up on Monday morning to a new job title. There was no communication, no discussions and no email communication.

As a Director, I reached out to HR since every single member of my team had a different job title, including myself. I was told that they were unaware and would look into it. Here we are 48 hours later....and still crickets. How is this possible? This organization is crumbling and we deserve better. You heard of "quiet quitting"....well, you just signed us all up to start doing "less" again!

Now, that the cat is out of the bag, just go ahead and announce the reorg, restructure, merger & sale of some of the territories. Offer VRP to these VP's, Senior Directors and the folks who didn't take the VRP last time. We are all here just waiting for the offer. I for one will gladly take it this time.

Now, we wait and see how many days it takes Pepsi HR & the Division President's to show up with communication and speaking points for us to take back to our teams.

Plain and simple...DO BETTER!

More Changes

Subject: An Important Update on Our Path to Prosperity
Dear Valued Employees,
I hope this letter finds you well and brimming with the same unwavering commitment to excellence that has defined our collective journey. As you know, we recently made some difficult but necessary adjustments to our organizational structure. While we deeply regret the temporary disruption this caused to our talent pool, we are thrilled to report that these decisive actions have yielded remarkable results, bringing us tantalizingly close to our shared goal: an overflowing trough for our truly deserving shareholders.
The good news is, our shareholders are still hungry. Very, very hungry. We have been informed that their yachts are only getting longer, and their summer homes are in dire need of additional wings. To ensure our most important stakeholders can continue to thrive in the manner to which they have become accustomed, we are implementing a few additional, innovative efficiency measures. We are confident these changes will foster a new era of employee resourcefulness and contribute directly to the financial well-being of those who matter most.
Phase I: The "Enriching Austerity" Initiative
Here are some of the exciting new protocols you can look forward to:

  • The "Personal Comfort" Program: The company will no longer be providing toilet paper, hand soap, or paper towels. We ask that you bring your own supplies from home to ensure your personal comfort and hygiene needs are met. This small sacrifice represents a massive saving that will go directly toward a new, diamond-encrusted doorknob for the CEO's office.
  • The "Time is Money" Restroom Timer: To help you maximize your on-the-clock productivity, we are installing timers in all restroom stalls. Each employee will be allotted a generous two-minute period per use. Any time beyond the two-minute limit will be docked from your monthly bonus. For those with more complex needs, a "platinum tier" unlimited use pass will be available for purchase at the low, low price of $100 a month.
  • The "Sustainable Illumination" Fee: The cost of electricity is skyrocketing, so we have decided to turn the power back over to the people! Effective immediately, there will be a small monthly fee of $5 per employee for the privilege of using the lights at your desk. Consider it an investment in your personal visibility and career advancement. Coffee will be sold at a $5 surcharge.
  • The "Shared Responsibility" Custodial Program: Our beloved custodial staff, who have served us so well for so many years, have been released from their duties so they may pursue other ventures, such as applying for unemployment. To fill this critical gap, all janitorial duties will now be the responsibility of the lowest-ranked employees in each department. We believe this will foster a new sense of community and humility.
  • The "Optimal Workspace" Initiative: For those with too much space, we are selling your extra square footage. For those who need to buy back some space, we can accommodate that at a high cost. Also, we are taking away your personal desk chairs and selling them on the open market. Feel free to bring your own stool, yoga ball, or a comfortable milk crate. This initiative will not only save the company thousands of dollars but also promotes better posture and core strength.
We understand these changes may seem challenging, but we ask that you view them not as cuts, but as opportunities—opportunities to show your dedication, to embrace resourcefulness, and to contribute to the unparalleled opulence of those at the very top.
    With utmost sincerity,
    The Management Team

Your Role in Driving Sustainable Growth Through Financial Discipline

Message from Sarah Bryant dated 9/4/202

Dear People Leaders,

For those of you who don’t know me, I joined two months ago as Executive Vice President, Finance, Telecom, and my team and I have been working across the organization as we look to strengthen our financial profile and help us to transform how we operate to ensure the long-term health and success of Optimum. It’s incredible to see the amazing work done to date by all of you and your teams and I’d like to share some enhancements to our fiscal discipline measures.

Embracing Financial Discipline with an Owner’s Mindset

First and foremost, I want to emphasize the importance of operating with an owner's mindset when it comes to financial stewardship. Every employee — regardless of role or level — must approach spending decisions as if each dollar were their own. This ownership mentality is fundamental to ensuring our company's long-term financial health and sustainable growth.

To this end, we are asking all leaders to be deliberate and prudent with our spending by proactively managing expenses. This includes an immediate pause on non-essential discretionary travel and entertainment (T&E) spending. I recognize that this is a delicate balance – it's critical that we continue to run the business, manage our business partners and vendors, and drive teammate performance. The goal isn't to stop spending entirely but to be thoughtful and judicious. Please critically evaluate T&E costs — including business travel, conferences, offsites, and client entertainment — to ensure they are directly tied to immediate business need or revenue generation. Where possible, please find alternative, cost-effective solutions or postpone less critical spending.

The pause of discretionary spending also applies to year-end events. We deeply value our employees' contributions and recognize the importance of year-end celebrations, and the ask is for leaders to find impactful ways to show appreciation and foster a positive and grateful environment for our dedicated teams in a prudent way. Check out the Recognition Toolkit in the Leader’s Zone on One, which includes meaningful approaches to employee recognition and celebrations to thank our teammates for their incredible contributions.

If you have a question regarding the T&E policy, events or other spend, please do not hesitate to reach out to your finance business partner for clarification.

Comprehensive Review of Spending Controls

To strengthen our financial governance and ensure we're positioned for long-term success, we will also be conducting a thorough review of our vendor invoice approval platforms and all PCard usage and related policies. This review will assess spending, strengthen controls, and implement procedures that uphold our fiscal responsibility. There will be additional communication regarding these changes in the next two weeks for those directly impacted.

Moving Forward with Purpose as ONE Optimum
These efforts support building a culture of financial stewardship that will serve us well in all economic conditions. Thank you for your attention and leadership. When every employee thinks like an owner, making prudent decisions about resource allocation, we create a more resilient, financially healthy and sustainable organization.

Sincerely,

Sarah Bryant

ONEGF Survey is live (Big One)

If you are a new or old employee you should have received an email from
-Microsoft Viva Glint- for this anonymous survey. There are 30 questions total that have ratings on a 1-10 scale (1 meaning strongly disagree, 10 meaning strongly agree) you can add comments to each question rating as well. Keep in mind you can accidentally out yourself if you comment something that your manager knows it is a subject that you in particular talk about. While there are anti retaliation policies at GF that will not stop management from trying to figure out who wrote which comment.

Here is your one chance to make changes in your department. If you feel like your voices are ignored and feedback is brushed aside answer honestly and rate 1's. Managers with low ratings on this survey get put under an HR microscope, too many unhappy employees will cause action to be taken based on how many employees are unhappy.

If you don't have an issue with your department or manager then still make sure you voice that in the survey and give them a good rating. Good managers and leadership are hard to come by and employees do not get too many chances to have a say in their environment.

Another one bites the dust... Optum Insight CEO out!

Girls night! Did ya get the email? Divvy's out! Pretty sudden, too. This on top of all the shuffling of other top brass. Lisa had the right idea. Vivian may have gone willingly, but was likely a witty casualty.

Can't say I blame them, I wish all the best. I'll be thrilled to be the next rat fleeing this sinking ship.

WHO's NEXT?!?

laid off after 9 years

ibm canada laid me off in ottawa after 9 years, and just weeks later they labeled me a low performer... i got an email saying this, even though my last review was positive. i asked my manager in toronto why it happened, and he said his director in austin told him to do it, adding that he never thought i'd find out. ibm does this so they can backfill the role with someone else... pure evil!!!

i think the ceo and senior executives are slowly ki-ling ibm because revenue is not really growing. every year they lay off thousands in north america, europe, and canada, then move jobs to india to cut labor costs by 80%. they make revenue look fine each quarter, but it's a scam cheating the shareholders.
