This represents a 42 percent increase in the number of notices compared to the same period in 2025. However, the total number of affected workers only rose by 7.8 percent. The average layoff filing in 2026 involved approximately 110 workers, a decrease from about 145 workers per filing in 2025. This indicates a trend of more companies announcing cuts, but with smaller individual workforce reductions.
