The free tier's biggest feature, the malware and phishing blocking, is invisible. Customers never see it work. No alert, no moment, nothing to point to. What they can see is the paid tier, and that's one camera and one sensor for $15 a month, more than Ring charges for full professional monitoring on an unlimited system. It only runs on our gateway, so the customers most likely to leave us are excluded from the thing meant to keep them.And we're not a company people rate highly right now. Cable ISPs sit at the bottom of the satisfaction rankings, well behind fiber and 5G. Free doesn't fix that. It just adds something invisible to a bill people already think is too high.
I think it's a fine retention product. I don't think it's a new category, and I think we should be honest with ourselves about the difference.

Appreciate the effort to send out surveys to show how difficult this place is to get anything done, but history has shown that people here who complain about the insanity are considered “bad attitude “ and given the axe in the next round of layoffs.

Be truthful.

OK Five9. Let’s use the rest of 2026 and show this industry that we have what it takes to get past the misdirection of previous leadership.

Whenever this years anonymous survey comes out, let’s be honest and give bad ratings, no more good ratings just for sake of it

Part of me doesn’t want to do it but part of me wants to be totally honest. The bad part is the way the survey is written. The questions intentionally don’t get to the actual issues. So much of it is around you and your direct manager. I have a great direct manager who is also getting sc--wed over. I don’t want them blamed for the problems.

Let’s all be sure to tell them what we really think. I mean, surely they’re gonna care to hear from employees. Right? RIGHT??!! 😝

Did you know that the only person who sees your feedback is your supervisor? In the assessment meeting your supervisor can make up anything. There is no fact checking of what they claim your KO feedback was. They can totally make it all up. Same for your PDS write up. Only your supervisor sees it. They could come in and say things totally different from what you wrote on your PDS and your KO feedback said and you would never know.
