Notified today Boston.
Some are being advised of wtc ot staying at 245 today.
This is the silent layoff.
Suddenly after years of flexibility it’s now hardline?
Be careful Abby you might’ve bitten off more than you can chew.
Consultants aren’t embedded they are external know it alls that have left many companies in its wake.
Stop panicking everyone. There will be balance. That’s how nature works. Calm down
Worry about full time RTO only if you are VP or above or in Boston
I have pretty much walked all floors in both buildings in my location and know the parking situation (straight to the 4th floor if you arrive after 7:30) and they are 80% occupied. So, HR communicating about other regions full time RTO schedule coming later in the year is pure BS. Don't shoot the messenger, I am just reporting what I see on the ground.
I don't think there are so many phones per region (60% of total strength) that they'll be able to fit all of us. I don't see any construction or acquisition possible where we are located. So, just a lot of puffery tbh. Anyway, latest all hands for one of the BU's said the schedule is coming next week. So, I might be proven wrong in 2 days.
Enjoy your weekend.

Are the Boston office and SMB products team likely to be affected?I trust people here As some people are always right …
America's Test Kitchen Faces Workforce Changes
America's Test Kitchen has undergone multiple rounds of layoffs and operational shifts since its acquisition by Marquee Brands. These changes include the closure of ATK Kids and Cook's Country magazine, alongside a strategic pivot towards digital content and influencer collaborations. Company leadership asserts these adjustments are necessary for adaptation in a changing media landscape, aiming for organizational right-sizing rather than simple cost-cutting. Former employees express concerns that these shifts may dilute the brand's core mission of rigorous recipe testing. Despite these internal shifts, the company's flagship television show remains a primary driver of subscriptions.

Stock Down during IBM THINK in Boston?
Why is the stock still hovering near its 52-week lows? With the IBM Think conference in Boston underway, you’d expect all the “good news” coming out of it to provide some lift. It’s essentially a homecoming-style rally for IBM—so why does the stock keep falling instead?
Mbta commuter rail is heavily used by Fidelity employees
It’s falling apart 45 min delay due to equipment shortage
And now they expect us to come in everyday?
I’ll be dead outside waiting for a train this won’t work.
Do they not see the impact with cars on the roads in the parking lot the mbta being useless!
She needs to get Maura involved. Maybe Maura can fix it.
lol yea right and vrabel didn’t cheat on his wife
You know why there won’t be any significant lay offs?
Because this state is driving young adults out with zero affordability. Boston rent is off the charts, it’s unsustainable here.
The governor has not met a tax she didn’t like we are quite literally being squeezed and taxed to death here.
So don’t worry you won’t be laid off you’ll just be drained of all your money here. The only reason Fidelity still has HQ here is because of her massive real estate holdings. Even billionaires don’t like to lose money.
If things don’t turn around fiscally here we all may be forced between Texas and keeping our jobs or taxes and bleeding money to stay afloat. And I’ve got fairly deep seven figures invested and I’m worried!

Is severance officially maxed out at 4 weeks?
I know a few people that were recently let go in Boston. Rumored be part of the initial phase of the Lake Mary relocation (they relayed to their manager that they had no interest in moving to Florida and that feedback was cascaded up).
All of them here 10+ years.
3 or 4 years ago they would have been given 6+ months. I think the maximum used to be 52 weeks.
I am hearing they each received full pay to the end of the pay period plus another 4 weeks.
Is this the new policy? Is a quality severance for people with 20+ years officially now gone? Has anyone heard of anyone let go in the last few months that was given a more substantial package?
Boston Health Care for Homeless
Stan McLaren, CEO of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, resigned in mid-December. His departure followed internal dissent over staff layoffs and mission concerns. Dr. Denise De Las Nueces, the chief medical officer, is now serving as interim CEO.
