Anyone have any suspicions as to how Provider Data Management teams across the company will be affected? My team (Wellcare Medicare of Connecticut) was already cut significantly once in 2024 because we exited the Vermont market then, and this year we were combined with Maine under one manager.
Without us and what we do, providers can't get enrolled, credentialed and paid, and members don't know who they can even go to see, so I'd say we serve a very critical function. But I know that means little to nothing at the end of the day in all of this. My manager has already said that if she has any say in the cuts at all that me and one other person are definitely not going, but obviously no guarantees that she will have any authority there. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Next round of RIF this month, it will be huge impacting all big locations

The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) eliminated administrative positions. This action resulted in 47 filled jobs being cut on June 30. The agency stated the goal is to maximize efficiency and strengthen BHDD. Direct care workers were not affected by these changes. Impacted employees reported receiving no prior warning about the layoffs.

This is what Centene is bracing for. We are already down in membership and this will definitely TANK the Medicaid LOB starting in January. Will the states be ready for this? What is the company doing to prepare for this change besides laying people off?

These layoffs affected employees across many markets nationwide. Several long-tenured individuals, some with decades of service, departed the company. Dairy Farmers of America will close its St. Albans milk processing plant. This decision will affect approximately 80 employees. The cooperative cited broader operational and network changes. Marine Acquisition Inc. (doing business as Dometic) is permanently closing its marine manufacturing facility in Limerick Township, Pennsylvania. This closure is eliminating 89 jobs.

Acuity Brands is closing its Winona lighting plant. This action will result in 86 layoffs. The Virginia-based company discontinued its Winona Custom brand last year. Operations at the facility will conclude by the end of August. This closure impacts the local workforce.

Wayfair Layoff for Global Partner Retail Enablement was made today. Unsure how many were impacted, but roles across Cross Journey Operations and Analytics were impacted today. Apparently not considered a "RIF" since it was a smaller headcount.

Supercell has reduced staff within its North American division. This news emerged from social media posts by former employees. A co-founder of one US branch, Steve Desilets, was among those impacted. Somerville's Mayor Jake Wilson announced staff reductions. The city cut thirteen active employee positions. Sixteen vacant roles were also eliminated from the budget. This action addresses a projected $5.4 million budget deficit. Impacted staff will receive paid leave and human resources support.
