What if Iran actually does cut internet cables as threatened

If Iran severs the internet cables in the deep water as they have threatened, what does that mean for companies in the US. Would India be cut off from US. I can't imagine the chaos that would create for companies. Most of our servers hosting GIT and other development applications are here in the US. That would pretty much cut them off, as well as others, from really being productive and who knows for how long that would last for. Is this our achilles heal. Are we foolishly offshoring work.

Member Protection or Leader Protection?

Why do I have to talk to multitudes of people and teams across Member Protection and Risk to update my control? Why does every change go through “review” by people who don’t have anything to do with my process? Why does it take me longer to educate 383, 829 people I’m required to talk to about a change I need than it takes for me to make the change and update the control? I have a risk partner why can’t they make the change like they do everywhere else in the Bank? Are we protecting the members or are we creating made up roles to make an executive feel good? What happened to simplifying and streamlining? How much money is spent on salaries for every change and how is that justified when there are many real, impactful changes that money can be spent on instead?

The layoff: My two cents

This has left a bad taste in my mouth for Fidelity. I got laid off yesterday, I'm a scrum master in Brokerage, L5. It makes sense to me that I was let go because I was one of the only two scrum masters in my chapter that were L5, nonetheless it was still a kick in the chest to get the news. But, I'm surprised Fidelity announced RTO just last week then this happened. If they were smart they should have announced RTO long before and waited for natural selection to kick in to have people leave on their own terms. But who am I to say?

Good luck to everyone else impacted, I hope you find the good in this as I do as well.

Federal Public Lands Workforce Shrinks in Mountain West

More than 5,800 federal public lands workers departed last year. This affected eight Mountain West states. Agencies like the U.S. Forest Service saw significant declines. Many workers were reassigned to the Interior Secretary's office. This reorganization may lead to slower decision-making.
