Still no line item for subscription sales, so we still are a vehicle manufacturer.
But of note, we’ve allegedly sold In Q3 2025 815,000 Ford Pro Intelligence software subscriptions. We’ve sold less than 84,000 Lincolns all year. Should Lincoln be cancelled to focus on selling subscriptions?
M&M sell vehicles at less than half the current prices - thank to AI tools... The buyers --- robots working in factories.... they will buy and drive.............
Joke ?
No income no buyer, no jobs ,,,, no market for the cars

Ford Gets a Correction to Our F-150 Lightning Story
Douglas A. McIntyre
Mon, October 27, 2025
Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) asked for a correction to our “Ford to End Production of Failed F-150 Lightning.”
Here is their correction:
F-150 Lightning is the best-selling electric pickup truck in the U.S. – despite new competition from CyberTruck, Chevy, GMC, Hummer and Rivian – and delivered record sales in Q3. Right now, we’re focused on producing F-150 ICE and Hybrid as we recover from the fire at Novelis. We have good inventories of the F-150 Lightning and will bring Rouge Electric Vehicle Center (REVC) back up at the right time, but don’t have an exact date at this time.
Here is our response:
Ford’s comment about the Lightning is a claim that it is good to be a 5 feet, 3 inches tall person in a room of people who are 5 feet tall.
For a start, the production information comes from The New York Times: “The company also said it has stopped making an electric version of its popular F-150 pickup.” That is in the headline about Ford’s earnings. In the body of their story: “Because of the fire and slowing sales of electric vehicles, the company has stopped making the F-150 Lightning electric pickup.”
Ford always stuns us when it talks about being first in the segment. The company took the brand of the top-selling vehicle in the past five decades and launched an electric version. Then it congratulated itself for selling only 85 of these a day through the first three quarters of this year. Thus, Ford took one of the greatest brands in auto history and turned it into a multibillion-dollar debacle.
Executive Chair Bill Ford told the Detroit News that the Lightning was the most important product of his career. He added, “Anytime you have a radical change to your most successful product, you really are betting the company.” I have not heard him say Ford lost that bet.
The company increased the price of the Lightning three times in 2022. Some of that was apparently because it did not anticipate “significant material cost increases.” One of the largest car companies in the world should have foreseen such a significant change.
Ford said it planned to build 150,000 Lightnings in 2022. And it said it would ramp to an electric vehicle (EV) production rate of 600,000 in 2023. Ford has only sold 69,000 EVs through the first three quarters of 2025. It will be lucky to sell 90,000 for the entire year.
Astonishingly, Ford is proud of being in first place in the electric pickup segment with nine-month sales of 23,034 Lightnings through the third quarter, up a staggering 1%. That’s a record to be proud of.
General Motors Co. laid off more than 200 salaried employees on Friday, mostly at its Tech Center in Warren, Michigan, according to Bloomberg.
The cuts, announced around 7 a.m. via a Slack message, were attributed to “business conditions” rather than performance, according to people familiar with the meeting.

Rebates gone, no where to hide, they will cut heavily
Rumors are the Ford will freeze salaries and reduce hiring in '26 in a effort to lower cost and be more financially flexible given macroeconomic uncertainty and stiff international competition.

Auto Industry in Crisis: Why Plunging Sales and Mass Debt Signal a Broader Economic Threat
The cracks in the U.S. economy are becoming impossible to ignore, and the auto industry is flashing the brightest warning signs. From plummeting used-car sales at major retailers to mass bankruptcies among suppliers, a confluence of negative factors suggests a looming recession on Main Street that the stock market seems dangerously detached from.
The Used-Car and Truck Market Collapse
The evidence starts with sales figures and the struggling consumer:
CarMax stock is in freefall, down 40% this year, including a recent 20% single-day drop. The reason is clear: vehicle sales are declining, leading to a 28% decrease in net income.
The subprime auto loan market is buckling. Tricolor, a major subprime auto financier, filed for bankruptcy on September 10. High-risk lending is becoming unsustainable, with loan delinquencies at 5% and repossessions up 20% year-over-year (YOY). This signals that the hardest-hit consumers are running out of money.
The commercial side is just as weak. U.S. heavy truck sales have collapsed to levels lower than during the pandemic, plunging by 131,000 units, or 24%. A recent government response—a 25% tariff on imported heavy trucks—is unlikely to help when the core problem is lack of demand, not foreign competition. If manufacturers can’t sell trucks and CarMax can’t sell cars, tariffs won't fix the underlying issue.
The Domino Effect on Manufacturing and Suppliers
The slowdown in sales has created a severe bottleneck in the supply chain, threatening the entire manufacturing ecosystem:
North American orders for goods are down 21% from the year before, signaling manufacturers are cutting future production plans.
This lack of demand is crushing suppliers under the weight of debt. First Brands, an American supplier that makes essential parts like water pumps and filters, filed for bankruptcy. The core reason: low orders from automakers. The company carries a staggering $6 billion in debt, illustrating how rapidly the crisis is moving up the supply chain.
The Economic Reckoning
These company and industry-specific problems translate directly to a broader economic downturn:
Job and Production Cuts: With sales falling and debt rising, manufacturers are forced to pull back on production, leading to cut hours and mass layoffs.
GDP Contraction: Decreased production and lost jobs immediately reduce business-to-business spending, which then triggers an overall dip in GDP and economic activity.
The Stock Market Disconnect: The data points to a major economic contraction, yet the broader stock market has remained resilient, creating a "bubble." If this economic reality forces a correction, the market risks a major "popping" event, threatening the pensions, 401(k)s, and wealth of millions of retail investors.
The bottom line is that the auto industry, a massive pillar of the American economy, is in deep distress. The warning signals are undeniable, suggesting that the current Wall Street enthusiasm is out of sync with Main Street's grim reality.
Dave Calhoun, with his multi-million-dollar salary demand, could not come up with this brilliant idea!
Can we bring back the Eddie Bauer Explorer? Lol
Yes, we are back in business, interest rates going down, there will be more hiring and promotions to fill empty(fired) positions soon, heard from a reliable source
Ford Recalls 102,000 Cars After Doors Start Falling Apart.
Trim Troubles Hit Ford's Final Taurus Generation
Ford Motor Company has issued a recall affecting 102,000 Taurus sedans manufactured between 2016 and 2019 due to B-pillar door trim pieces that may detach while driving. The defective trim on both driver and passenger sides can create potential road hazards when it breaks free during normal vehicle operation.
The problem stems from a manufacturing process change that eliminated hand rollers previously used to ensure proper adhesion of the trim pieces. Vehicle owners have reported wind noise as an early warning sign of failing trim attachments before they fall off completely. Ford has had over 450 warranty claims related to failing door trim on Taurus models so far. If your vehicle is affected, tough luck. Ford says parts to remedy the situation are not yet available, but owners will be notified when they are.
Another Entry in Ford's Record-Breaking Recall Year
This Taurus recall adds to Ford's unprecedented 2025 performance, with 90 recalls issued by July setting an industry record for any automaker in a full year. The cumulative impact has affected over 4 million Ford and Lincoln vehicles across 82 separate recalls through June.
Ford's biggest single recall this year involved 850,318 vehicles worldwide, including popular models like the F-150, Bronco, and Explorer. That massive action targeted defective fuel pumps in 2021-2023 Bronco, Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and Super Duty pickups, along with 2021-2022 F-150, Mustang and Navigator models. Additional recalls have addressed brake failure risks in roughly 123,000 vehicles and malfunctioning rearview cameras across multiple Ford models.
With Ford giving away their vehicles for free, this would eliminate Ford having to deal with Recalls which is like flushing good money down the old toilet. With no more responsibility for recalls, this would turn into an instant cash cow for Ford.
Who needs Dave Calhoun to come up with brilliant ideas like this!
Yes it’s coming soo

It's about time Ford realize that it cannot compete in the EV business. Loosing $5billon per year with no end in sight is not a good business strategy.
Ford will need to lay off more of Model E and retreat. Join venture with another Chinese EV manufacturing company, build them in China, and ship them to the US just like what GM is doing.
The automotive industry is faltering in more ways than one, and layoffs appear to be a direct result of the struggle. The Ford job cuts in Germany are the latest sign of challenging times in the EV industry. This week, Ford Motor Co. announced that it would cut 1,000 jobs in Cologne, where its electric auto plant was floundering after lower-than-expected demand for its battery-powered cars.

After working at Ford, I thought since it would make sense to buy one after my career pivot. Never get high off your own supply, I guess. Just sold my ford truck for 14 grand, I bought it for 32 grand two years ago when the truck market was god awful, huge mistake.. salvaged title. And I put 20k into because the transmission and the transfer case went out. I got sc--wed over by my uncles friend, took it to the shop. Rented truck and the freaking trailer fell off and hit the truck, so 1400 for that, for the rental. Got sc--wed over, front drive shaft went out last winter too.
Ended up getting a ram. I love my v6. I love my ram. I subcontract all my work now, I don’t even have an f250… let’s go. I was very afraid to move on from my concrete contractor but now I’m absolutely turnkey and dump trailer for 7 grand. I lost a lot of money on that truck but I learned something. All trucks are the same. I would buy a brand new ram 2500 because they’re cheap trucks and cost the same to repair. I do not like ford. Get a warranty on your truck, get a little v6. They're all the same, really.
Major cuts are coming mid-October.
Good luck everyone.
And yes, Ford Credit will be affected.

The General Motors plant in Wentzville will experience temporary layoffs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 19.
A message from United Auto Workers Local 2250 chairman, Jon Daugherty, and the plant executive, Eric Shelhorn, noted the layoff stems from parts availability.

in 2019, which is 6 years ago, Ford introduced the new redesign models Explorer, Escape, F150, Mustang, and Transit. The only model that is still selling above 100,000 units per year is the F150. If you look at these vehicles after 6 years, they are all still look the same.
This is the main reason why Ford vehicles sales are down. Why would anyone want to buy a new vehicle that looks like the ones from 6 years ago.
Ford will ax the Escape and Transit, the Mustang is iconic so Ford will hold on to it even though Ford loses money making the Mustang.

These Broncos should be ready for production. Only if Ford can build it reliably. I am not sure about the quality, but it's cool looking.
Just Heard there will be buyouts in 2026 for UAW members. Not sure about all details, but the request will be sent out to see who’s interested.
