Because this will end well for sure...

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. moved one step closer to his goal of dismantling the nation’s premier public-health agency by dismissing more than 1,000 scientists, doctors and public health officials from the Department of Health and Human Services late Friday night.

Federal job cuts add strain to weakening labor market in U.S.

Roughly 100,000 federal employees officially left the government payroll this week, deepening concerns about the softening U.S. job market, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday. The departures coincide with an ongoing government shutdown that could bring additional losses.

The cuts stem from the administration’s deferred-resignation program, which allowed employees to leave but continue receiving pay and benefits for months. About 154,000 took the deal, according to the Office of Personnel Management, with most staying on the books through Sept. 30. Combined with a hiring freeze, voluntary exits and layoffs, the federal workforce is expected to shrink by hundreds of thousands this year.

Say What?’…. I just bought a new house and truck.

Trump administration cancels millions in funding for Plug Power and GE Vernova. U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko's office said $180 million in total funding was canceled for projects connected to the Albany region.

I can’t afford what I just bought if I went back to my old job.

With the Government shut down, not good to be on the Bench right now. If you did not receive layoff notice this week, most likely will next week

When internal jobs are open to fill, most, if not all Booz Allen managers do not give priority to employees facing layoffs. I don't ever recall hearing the Booz Allen Hamilton CEO, or the many Vice Presidents, Principles or Directors come out and state that Booz Allen employees facing layoffs will be given first priority in filling internal jobs.

In fact, the last three external hires who onboarded in my group, came in with weak skills overall. Seems like Booz Allen internal candidates facing layoffs would have been a better bet.

If you are employee on the bench, unable to find new contracts to support within 2 days after being placed on bench or concerned contract, you are supporting is going to face cancellation or funding reduction. Don't delay in looking outside Booz Allen for new job. Don't forget to mark your LinkedIn profile as available or looking. Then hope for the best. If offered job with another company, leave Booz Allen Hamilton in rear view mirror and never look back.

People say Booz Allen was a better company before going public many years ago. I personally doubt that.

Their plan

Imperial and the government are running the scam of the century. Lay off 1,000 people → claim it’s a “lack of projects” → pull in more contracts from the government → hand the work off to India.

IOL’s lobbying team nailed it. Smith and the media are saying exactly what Imperial wants to hear. And they're are already in Edmonton, so no relocation needed.

It’ll continue until BTC's incompetence results in a major incident here in Canada. We see everyday that they can't even handle basic tasks.

Porting 1 job = 1 person on social support

In Canada want to allow companies like Imperial Oil to port jobs to BTC and KLTC, then Canada needs to provide social safety net that will help us maintain our lifestyle.

So, basically, I am saying Canada needs to tax companies that are porting jobs outside the country and use those dollars for a better social safety net.

If you calculate the tax rate, it will be so high that no company will be willing to port jobs overseas anymore.

Readers to this website, asking your help to spread this message. We need to pass a Canadian law that ported jobs will have to be taxed by the hour.

Bellingham’s proposed 2026 budget has layoffs, service cuts and a new tax

Mayor Kim Lund’s proposed 2026 budget cuts the equivalent of 30 full-time jobs, trims city services and urges the City Council to enact a new sales tax for public safety in an attempt to reduce a projected $10 million deficit. In all, the $543 million spending plan eliminates 40 total positions, many of which are vacant already as officials saw a fiscal crisis looming earlier this year, according to Lund’s budget message to the City Council on Monday.

NASA's in trouble

NASA Watch reports that the threat of actual federal layoffs is rising during the ongoing government shutdown, adding to furloughs already in effect. NASA headquarters has contingency plans for such layoffs, but with the agency’s public affairs office on furlough, official communication is limited.

The report cites several developments: the Congressional Budget Office warning of imminent layoffs, a budget director telling Republicans that federal job cuts are days away, claims that directives to fire workers during a shutdown may be illegal, and agencies like the Patent Office already laying off staff.

The White House and Office of Management and Budget have reportedly issued strict warnings to agencies against sharing shutdown-related details publicly.

I can’t believe Intel is a carcass that corporate raiders and government power brokers now salivate with impunity

Our investor relations team must be the same people that put on the Fyre Festival

Province’s Reaction

It’s so infuriating to read in the news how the Provincial government tries to tie the layoffs to the feds, focusing solely on the pipeline or some perceived “red tape.” I’m with IRP, and there was no shortage of projects (less so now, no one knows what to do). For approvals, we asked AER or provincial bodies.

Those corporations don’t care about ease of regulations - they only understand regulatory consequences and cost impacts. Right now, it’s very cheap for them to get rid of all of us with no reason given. I almost can’t blame IOL (or more so Exxon) for what they did. It aligns very well with the nonsensical decisions they were making. BTC, DTI, how is this allowed in Canada

HR here, this shut down of the government may lead to Veterans affair contract layoffs

we have discussed the last week, with the governments intention to cut funding again once the shut down is over that we will be laying off the following positions. This is not set in stone, it is only what will happen in the event that the government cuts funding again once the government opens up. Our sources have told us to plan for this.

The priority of layoffs will go to employees who have been there long term and should have moved out of that position by now(including team leads) but have not, it is to weed out employees that we can’t plan to continue to grow and prioritize employees that we can grow on less funding. Roughly half of the application support analyst positions, 1/3rd of developers/DBA’s/Devops, and nearly 3/4th of the scrums masters.

From what we have been told this morning, this will be the biggest layoff in the history of our time with the VA if President Trumps goes through with what advisors are suggesting.

WARN

Why was this not posted on WARN?
From the Illinois WARN site: Illinois WARN applies to employers with 75 or more full-time employees (excluding part-time workers) and requires employers to provide 60 days advance notice of pending plant closures or mass layoffs.

A “mass layoff” under Illinois WARN is a reduction in force at a single site of employment that is not the result of a “plant closing” and results in employment losses during any 30-day period (or, in some cases, during any 90-day period) of 25 or more full-time employees if they constitute one-third or more of full-time employees at the site, or 250 or more full-time employees.

This would seem to fit the description and require notice. Is HCSC non-compliant?

"Just IN: President Trump considering a proposal to block US IT companies from outsourcing their work to Indian companies — a move that could wreck Indian IT sector & cost millions of jobs."

Trump’s Tech Meeting

Why was MD not at that tech meeting? So that he could avoid the question of how much money he’s going to invest in The US and how many jobs he’s planning on creating? Because the answer is India?

Both Zuck and Cook are investing 600 billion each.

Boeing won’t win the Navy NGAD

It was a long shot. They won F47, but winning both programs won’t happen. It’s too much risk for the DOD on a company that’s historically been late and over budget on most of the programs. The number of so-called analyst though who claimed Boeing has a good shot, I think it’s very misleading.

MIGA - Make Intel Great Again

I think Trump has some other things up his sleeve that will help Intel and give them an unfair advantage over other companies. I know this seems weird on how Intel spearheaded the Chips act and we are the only company being hosed by it, however I think it might turn out to be a great thing. Let’s give it some time……the Donald still has 3 years.

Why merge with us?

With the culture and functionality in such a poor state, why would anyone willingly want to join us? We will be a poison pill to any partner. Countless case studies exhibiting cultures like ours destroying their new host entity.

Any higher-ups lurking that glanced into the palantir? None of this seems sustainable Is RV and Co just robbing us blind? I dont see the off ramp...

Campaign to White House

Not sure if this will amount to much, but with the recent problems with India and United States, I took it upon myself to go to the Whitehouse website and write a small letter to President Trump that he needs to stop the major Oil and Gas companies moving engineering and technical expertise to India. I cited loss of jobs, knowledge, and local taxes to communities. I finally stated we should not be moving our expertise to a country that wants to buddy up with Russia. Our oil and gas companies have become greedy and although this may not amount to anything, I would appreciate if others would write the White House on their website.
