New leaders do not know their own org structures

With the SVP changes today, both in the business & finance…. I can’t help but to ask myself, how are they deciding who is being let go? These shifts imply that the new leaders do not know their org structure…. Who is good/ who isn’t etc.

All we can do now is, not let our nerves get the best of us. Today just proves that layoffs will be 1. financial 2. Strategic and not personal and reflective of your abilities.

I hope everyone can get some rest after today and realize there is nothing that you can do it. Out of our hands so should be out of our minds.

Big news, folks — the mystery meeting is happening this Thursday!

The mystery meeting is happening this Thursday! Nobody knows what it’s about, but the calendar invite came with no agenda and an unusually cheerful emoji from HR, never a good omen. Rumor has it the CEO will kick things off with some lighthearted jokes about the recent security breaches (classic comedy material!) and that tiny 30% drop in share prices last week. Just a “market correction,” right? Could be layoffs, could be free snacks, maybe both! It’s the corporate Hunger Games, but with spreadsheets. Bring your best smile. It might be your last official company photo.

Next round of layoffs at Walmart

We don’t expect additional layoffs /RIFs until (at the earliest) 2nd or 3rd week of February 2026, if needed. Of course, if the (holiday) event doesn’t go as planned, we could see something before FY2025 ends. After that, we’ll see the normal herd thinning happen as a result of the calibration cycle. Managers and directors will decide who they like and who they don’t like, and those will get low evaluations and be part of the yearly purge that happens sometime in the March to May timeframe.

There is some reason to believe Walmart will cut numerous associates in 2nd and 3rd quarter of FY2026 due to AI being able to assume responsibility for tasks and processes that are repeatable and stable.

We’d encourage you to review Doug’s comments on AI and it’s adoption inside Walmart.

Further, we don’t foresee any reductions at the stores or DCs. Transportation is probably ok.

We’d encourage all associates to speak to their direct managers about their current performance and listen to the answer carefully.

My Prediction, Gut Feeling Only

A bit more than 15% cuts across the board. Every team is affected.
The total will be just shy of 20K.
They will have another round in Q3 2026.
The stock will go up. Our ability to grow revenue will go down.
This is just my gut feeling, I am not basing this on any insider information.

If the rumors turn out to be wrong, all the better

If some layoffs still happen, I just hope it won’t be as massive as everyone’s been expecting. I need this job. We all do. At least until things get better. Then we can decide to hate it, change it, or move on. Right now, it’s a total sh-tshow out there. My family can’t afford even one of us being jobless for more than a month or two. So, fingers crossed we’ve been wrong all along.

Great Dane confirms that layoffs are planned

Great Dane released a statement Monday afternoon confirming that there will be layoffs at their Kewanee plant within the coming weeks.

According to a statement from Jake Wallace, a member of Great Dane’s communication team in Georgia, the plan is to align the “manufacturing capacity with current market demands amid a prolonged freight recession.”

Drama movie

You all will be very disappointed very soon when you find out you are expecting a Drama Movie and the movie ends being a comedy....live on. There will be big changes and the normal EOY sheet cleaning but nothing extraordinary like you all falsely claim here....believe me not?....wait and come back here in two weeks

Julie needs Cash Flow

This is 100%. The layoff is not because AI is magically changing things, or because clients need less work. The nature of work is changing, projects are smaller and more focused. But, behind all of this is the need for free cashflow which can be achieved through higher sales (not going to happen) or cut in expenses (it's happening right now). She needs cash to finance AI infrastructure build out, and the only way to find the $$$ is to cut people. She has no other options (ok, she can go in debt, but that's always bad). So, she's repeating the same thing that AWS (30K cuts), MSFT (25K cuts), META (20K Cuts) and others are doing.

I wish all of us good luck.

2026 will be bad....

2026 will be bad.... we are headed to much trouble times - the economy and politics will suffer, the worker will suffer... make sure u got degrees and some certifcations. todays job market care more about culture fit, tests, 3-6 interviews and then ghosted?? i felt this pain alredy and the stress is unreal!

so when u get that meeting invite later today, manager there but hr left out cause it’ll be a surprise.. severance, COBRA, resume helper... nobody reached out to me when i was laid off, not even ppl i reported to, nothing!! nobody has ur back.. i realy hope u got family or friends like i did, cause when that call ends, u’ll see who really matters in life...

new views will hit u hard... no loyalty, no care, no two week notice.. all that they expect from us when we leave a company!!!

Contractor

I was let go yesterday, was told that my contract will not be renewed. I know others who were also affected and I know some employees are being let go too. It's been though for a long time and I was afraid this will happen but now there is no more uncertainty but there is no more paycheck too. Husband is also unemployed right now and with two kids it will be hard to go through the holiday season as I am sure nobody is hiring before January. Good luck to all and I hope this madness stops with me.

GCC Layoffs

Venkat townhall had hints about GCC layoffs.

I know people are leaving on their own already.

What do you think will happen.

I am trying to be positive but it's so hard.

2000 Layoffs...Here's what would be wonderful if they would just be consistent and shared ...

1,000 Layoffs on 10/29
600 Buyouts
1,600 Personnel no longer on the books once Telefe and Chile TV network sold
Talk of 2,000 total Layoffs

Here's what would be great to know...just so all are aligned and working off the same page. We know that the 1,000 10/29 layoffs are part of the 2,000 layoff target. Are the 600 + 1,600 figures above considered part of the total 2,000 or are they completely separate? That's all we're asking DE + Exec Team to share. Are there 1,000 more to go in December of Q1 2026 or is the figure more or less???
