Hypocrites

The execs keep talking about the need to reduce expenses and are laying people off, yet they are paying over $120 million to get all the agents together in Las Vegas and spending an additional $15 million on incentive trips for said agents. Oh know gas prices increases costing us more…how about cancel the trip?!? Paying for Pink to entertain agents and executives…disgusting!

People are being laid off based on wrong metrics

We are measured on metrics that don’t fully capture the work being done. You can be doing meaningful work and still look like you’re underperforming on paper. There’s a clear disconnect between effort and evaluation. I've seen people who were among our best get on the list of "underperformers" when nothing could be further from the truth. It’s honestly pretty frustrating.

I hope everybody is looking for a new job

We all know major cuts are coming, the only question is when. It's much easier to find a new job when you're already employed. And trust me, the job market is so bad right now that you don't want to be stuck looking for a job while unemployed with so many others in our field already out of work and looking.

Not looking forward to tomorrow

We lost more than half of our team. I have no idea how things will look from this point on. I'm worried we'll be reassigned to other teams, and I really don't want to lose my remaining coworkers or my manager. She's one of the few good ones left. I know layoffs are done, but I think the aftermath will be just as bad for the rest of us.

Layoff is Minimal

Honestly, Oracle’s layoffs weren't even that deep, but they’re definitely still ghosting some projects. Now they’re in this weird spot where they need bodies in Nashville, but they're being cheap and won't shell out $100k for new people, so they’re just recycling H-1B staff to save cash. If you’re a boss there, you’re basically safe from the next round of cuts as long as your team is mostly offshore or visa-heavy. This whole mess is probably just gonna stay the same until October or maybe early next year.
