AT&T has been giving their employees 14 days notice.

I’m from Texas and I recently found out that upper leadership is getting with management and Regional Managers trying to figure out what positions are really needed within the clinic nurses and medical assistants, so I know cuts are for sure coming. So they would rather put more work on staff members, then hire another body. In my honest opinion, they are going to get rid of all the seasoned employees that are getting paid more so they can hire new hires and if you do get laid off, they’ll probably make you take the severance package lose all the years under your belt with the company and then re-hire you at zero years. I was unfortunately part of the first round of layoffs a few years ago and that was part of the package if you take the severance package, you lose all the years under your belt.

Anyone else here wondering how we’re going to cover all these big gaps we took with the amount of people that left ? Peers in SP were already busy and losing 4 people is just going to add more uncertainty. Those who stayed , get ready to work for the equal amount of pay.

VSP’s would have been a way to keep quality employees and save money with tenured higher paid reps taking packages. I personally would have taken a package so it could have freed up someone younger who wanted to grow with Verizon. If the VSP process was done there would have been less layoffs to announce and stores inheriting quality reps and managers from the closing locations.

So did he quit because he didn’t want to layoff a fifth of the company? 😅

First of all, i empathize with all my coworkers that were impacted today and wish them my best as they pursue other opportunities .
I survived today but want to know what is the severance package offered this time?
Is it std severance(2 weeks per yr of service and capoed at 35 weeks pay) and same amount of medical coverage upto 35 weeks? TIA!

Dec 19 or 16 is my last day. Can’t even remember everything is a blur. What a sh---y time to lay someone off. A few days before Xmas.

Like may here I was impacted today.

I see the severance calculation which makes sense based on salary and years of service, but I see no mention of my vacation time.

I have a large vacation balance and wanted to know if we see that payment figure anywhere in the portal?

Fact - layoffs are happening this week - I know quite a few people that were informed this week. Awesome they do it right before the holidays...

Comcast has layoffs every fourth quarter, it's stands ops for them.

Any word on the specifics of these emails and timelines? I’m hearing names drop all around me at neighboring locations but don’t understand how these decisions are being made.

From what you've seen, do you think older employees were targeted unfairly when they chose who to lay off?

VERIZON will close of Operations outside of the USA , the missing 2000 ...... from the 15000.... we just found them !

Anyone know what sort of reorg we’ll be seeing or when it will be announced? Will wireless and wireline ops finally merge? What happens now.

Horizon is laying off 300 employees come Jan

US based Tier 2 tech department just got extremely thinned out. More and more US based employees are being let go. Think about your future because Verizon won’t. If you havnt heard anything by EOD I’d stop stressing as 30 day notice is Dec 19th which is our final date.

I’ve seen so many messages and status updates. From where I am, it looks like a lot.

I left VZ enterprise a few years ago and I will share this. One thing that was tiresome were the constant RIF's., I started with Verizon back in 2010...they had 164000 employees...just to put that into perspective, the company continues to shrink, continuess to be mismanaged, continues to flounder with no real direction or plan to build the company and make it strong. On the flip side, NTT employs 250K people globally and yes they have their fair share of problems, but they are not shrinking like Verizon is...

I’m looking to get hired at Verizon as a developer in Alpharetta, Ga.
Have layoffs affected the Alpharetta location?
Is there a hiring freeze now in place?

Petty? Yes. Hear me out though.

My 1 line, phone and watch was running up the score gradually on my bill. About $98 a month or so. Without the employer discount, my bill is now going to be $170! Give me a break. Even if there's no magical ethical carrier, stop giving your money to this corporation.

Has anyone heard anything about any layoffs? Seems pretty quiet right now but reading about a lot of companies laying off

Because the way these layoffs were structured doesn’t make much sense, nor how most of the people were selected. The chaos that’s going to follow is going to be impossible to manage.

I am safe, and I dont feel great. I feel destroyed. So many people around me are gone, and my heart is broken. I can't even understand how we move forward without some of the groups we have lost today

This company is on a death spiral.

The part about being laid off is knowing Verizon is still hiring. It feel like a huge betrayal. Many jobs could have been saved if things were REALLY BEING LOOKED AT!

Thursday came around quick. Anyone impacted this week or know of anyone? Someone said ~10 in GCAS tech but I would think more for just before December starts. Thoughts with those that are and have been laid off.
