Comcast plans job cuts in Connectivity and Platforms

Comcast is preparing layoffs across its broadband, mobile, and pay TV unit, removing a management layer between corporate and regional teams starting in January. Customer service and retail positions are reportedly exempt.

JPL staff received an HR email referencing a Phase Two reorganization and potential layoffs in October, with warnings that a large portion of the workforce could be impacted by mid October 2025. The note also referenced return to office requirements for remaining teleworkers.

Hill & Smith will close its Garland plant and move operations to La Mirada California. Amazon delivery contractor Accelore Solutions will cut 214 roles in Fort Worth and Mesquite. Dynasty Healthcare Group will shut a Richardson facility, affecting 70 jobs.

Corporate headquarters moves and consolidations continue in North Texas, with earlier announcements including Neiman Marcus and Di-kies exiting Dallas. The cuts span logistics, manufacturing, and healthcare.

Starbucks CTO exits as layoffs and tech shifts accelerate

Starbucks CTO Deb Hall Lefevre resigned without a permanent replacement as the Seattle based company proceeds with layoffs of around 900 nonretail workers and closures in the United States and Canada. Ningyu Chen, based in Atlanta, is interim CTO.

The company is retooling technology, including mobile ordering, POS, AI inventory, and store formats. Reuters reporting notes increased reliance on an outside IT contractor in India.

Lufthansa leans on AI, plans 4,000 job cuts

Anyone have any more intel on the proposed contracting out of Shell US legal work management to Norton Rose Fulbright and Baker Botts? Would mean a significant reduction in attorney staff with legal cases and litigation then overseen for key issues by only a handful of Shell senior attorneys. Another cost savings move in the offing.

I've seen some folks reporting 3 weeks per year of tenure and for short-term employees numbers seems to be smaller. I also see that some are reporting that lawyers are advising them to sign. Just curious if we can consolidate what we know about severance for this round of cuts so we can have it here archived for future layoff rounds (I wish I asked this last time too)...

Stop fear mongering, nothing is happening today nor tomorrow nor any other day. Just check your senior leaders calendars there is nothing suspicious there. And kearl asset manager is on days off, don’t you think he would be working if there were layoffs. Calm tf down.

Friday was the last day for over 1/4 of the contact center and from what I hear similar rifs occurred elsewhere in the life & retirement area. Next big layoffs are planned for November-December timeframe af the division winds down and transfers servicing to Everlake/NTT Data/TAG.

We are now about what 28000 employees... maybe? And they HAD 8500 locomotives, they only are running maybe 3300? How many are stored broke or have been sold off?

Just want people to be aware that the current labor budget increase for TI is only a few percent over the next five years. It's well below a cost of living increase for existing employees assuming no new hires or attrition. There are more layoffs planned for the future.

Q3 was not good, heads will roll. Add in Champion X and the other new purchase. The need more cost savings to keep free cash high.
