Business Analyst, scrum masters - What you really do in tech groups ?
I don't see any value add for Business analyst, scrum masters in tech groups. Specially in AI era, these positions are redundant and can be completely eliminated.
Growth
So Anderson says AIG is ready to grow... Are we going to buy other companies or what? I wonder if they will finally manage to create a working IT infrastructure with AI that actually helps people and doesn't drag them down
Wonder When We'll Be Replaced By AI
I'm in PI and feel like it's only a matter of time. They already introduced an ai system that tracks and grades all of our calls last year... wouldn't be surprised if they're training an llm off of thousands of the top rated calls catalogued across the company.

Increased heath issues?
Has anyone else experienced more health issues this year (or with their team/peers), since the “8 hour” rule was threatened? I’ve personally been sick a couple times since Jan 1 and that’s very odd for me. After reflecting, the only thing that’s really changed is being around so many people in the office, especially so many from India. Specifically this has been in Technology (Charlotte).

service-now
What is it?
ATT vs Starlink
All rural fiber needs to stop being placed . Satellite is the most cost effective and starlink is about to take on a lot of new country fans after seeing starlink advertisements during the NASCAR race ! I need my T stock to go up and I just don’t think we need to place fiber too far past city limits for a couple connections. It is not cost effective… I know because I am in C&E in the South y’all. Does anyone have starlink tha could compare the service to fiber ?
VZ chatbot is the worse among Fortune 500 companies
It can’t even do basic task. It will keep throwing random responses or that it can’t help with anything. Total waste of time!
It’s more like chatbot from 2017 than chatbot from 2026..
AI Integration
Can't integrate out tools and acquisition but bring AI in to fix everything
CPQ for use by dealer channels?
Is it true that the once exclusive CPQ quote tool is now being used by the dealers?
If so, when did that start?

AP Layoffs & Changes
So now that AP has had all of its powers stripped and the new boss has laid off all of oversight, restructured technology to lay off people, and cut all of the district taskforce teams to replace only some of them with 1 investigator, how do we all think this is going to pan out?
I doubt his desperate attempt to offset the future losses (from his policies) by cost cutting everywhere else will not work. I expect store AP teams to start being cut by end of FY26 to cover for increased theft.
Also, what a great idea to cut technology! Not like 80-90% of the stores are running equipment from the late 90s that barely works or doesn’t work at all. This company loves to talk big about investing in our stores when they haven’t provided a comprehensive investment to safety & security in the last 30 years.
Splunk data
Someone mentioned a few days ago about being able to see site visit data in splunk. Anyone know how that is done? What splunk is that? What's the index?
Where are the technologist?
About a year ago I was talking about MU and the eminent shortage in memory to a Director level dude, his response, 'they're still around?'. That right there tells you all you need to know about the direction of this company. There are a lot of people in high places making important decisions that don't actually care or even understand technology. Middle management has a severe lack of vision and probably accountability.

Wireline to be sold?
Heard a rumor that budgets have been drastically cut and Technology is barely functional. Rats have started abandoning the ship too. Any truth to this?
Walmart is how it's done!
$1 trillion valuation first for non tech company. Stock thru the roof. And here is Nike claiming to be a tech company under JD and continuing to underwhelm both in tech and product.
Sure it's not a 1 to 1 comparison but goes to show competent leadership can weather headwinds like tariffs which if anything expose Walmart equally if not more! And BTW a lot of the Walmart growth is attributed to astute use of technology.
Few years back had the opportunity to join Walmart tech, back then Nike was the cool kid so I didn't consider it... Dang it!
Meta Reduces Reality Labs Staff, Prioritizes Wearables Development
https://www.storyboard18.com/brand-marketing/meta-cuts-1500-jobs-as-cfo-susan-li-signals-reality-labs-pivot-towards-wearables-88694.htm
Meta announced 1,500 job cuts, primarily within its Reality Labs division. The company is reassessing its long-term virtual reality and metaverse investments. CFO Susan Li stated Reality Labs spending will now focus more on wearables. This shift includes shutting down VR gaming studios and cancelling content initiatives. Wearables, especially smart glasses, have shown stronger market demand for Meta.

16k layoffs at Amazon, totaling 30k over the past year, or ~10%. The most important thing he said in the video was this (paraphrasing):
They are laying off AI Safety researchers and security experts in lieu of hiring more pure developers with a primary goal of automating as much as they possibly can. It would be prudent to watch these tech companies who are leading the pack and understand that what they are doing is a preview of what is to come.

Expect more layoffs as AI is adopted on a large scale. Amazon is laying off 20,000 highly paid corporate workers today, many of whom have AI skills.
I just miss SunTrust
Things were just so much better before this "merger of equals". We had to adapt to inferior BBT policies and procedures and technology despite the lies of choosing the best options.
GM ONE...
Really... Really?
What a down grade. It looks more like the aol site from 1998 than a website from 2026…
This is clearly a sign of things to come. It looks like a landing page for one of these AI slop regurgitated news aggregate sites Honestly I'm almost sure someone said , just run it through ai.
Speaking of ai, what the fu-k are we doing there? It's 2026 and we have nothing to show in ai advances. Yeah sure managers are poorly copiloting their email responses and take out orders but what in the way of innovation? Something original and useful?
What a poor user interface and unintuitive layout. First we decouple from teams.... Kinda but since it's integrated with ms office suite which we use for everything we still have to use teams sometimes. Slack is a dumpster fire designed for codebros. I'd rather go back to skype than use that abomination.
Who is making these poor poor decisions on our tech? Are we just handing the company over to China when the SAIC contract expires in 2027. Have you looked at what they are doing? GMNA he's fallen WAY WAY behind.
