No meaningful decisions. No barriers removed. No risks taken. Just endless positioning dressed up as leadership.

It is an impressive performance, really.

To contribute so little while appearing so important requires a very specific kind of talent. Real innovators leave behind better products, stronger teams, and meaningful progress.

Performers leave behind meeting invites, talking points, and the lingering question of what exactly they do all day.

Steve On The Spot returns from the World Cup after another successful display of cameras, travel, and self-promotion. Hopefully, the next appearance brings a little more leadership and a little less performance, especially as employees face the uncertainty of possible layoffs.

Ah yes, I remember all those times Bob Bakish had his father come to business dinners to talk about mergers, or had him hop on Zoom calls with advisors. It's totally a normal thing for CEOs to have their daddies help them with their jobs.

Anyone notice that a few SVPs weren’t included in the Q&A today? Yolanda, Julie, Kwame? What could this mean? Do they have nothing to contribute? Some of the questions involved their groups… I would have like to see them speak.

In tech. Recently there has increased visibility from leadership into our metrics/projects/etc. Our Jira boards and backlogs are regularly monitored and critiqued, and we've been told they are going to be averaging story point completion per person. Now they're asking us to track the specific skills we are using when completing each task. Is this happening anywhere else? Feels like a bad sign
