Did they try to think of the worst possible timing for cuts?

People keep talking about cuts happening this month. Is there any actual truth to that or is it just noise?

It’s blatantly clear that Oxy has all the hallmarks of a Marathon, Hess, Pioneer. Oxy has had a great run but has adopted practices and directives typically seen when a company is about to be absorbed and consolidated.

Realize that there are Going to be naysayers but, we’ve seen the improbable actually occur.

Being told to WFH on Thursday and all of my morning calls have been canceled for my team. Being told that more info to come on Thursday but make sure we are available Thursday morning and to not schedule anything

There are rumors of another round of layoffs in July. Is anyone else seeing a pattern where layoffs seem to happen every 3–6 months and reorganizations every 14–16 months, or is that just perception?

it would be cool if anyone had any ACTUAL layoff information to post instead of having to read a bunch of grown adults bashing anything they can to cope with their fear of being laid off.

April through August are traditionally high layoff months for Walmart. Look at the data. They’ll lay off more before the end of August.

After the June 15th VTP (Voluntary Termination Pay up to 104 weeks) announcement for a bunch of Leg T CWA union workers as well as much rumor going around for more of the same in September and December, I wonder what the people now say who adamantly exclaimed that there will never be a VTP. It would be interesting to hear how they rationalize or explain this now.

He expects a cut, notes that it will be sizable but 'reasonable' (whatever that means). When I pressed with numbers did not want to share anything. I said 20K, he said unlikely, I said 10K he said maybe. Take it for what it's worth. I typically trust him as he's a good person and we have a close relationship (long story) but wanted to share that.

I wish Verizon would be more transparent regarding our jobs. I’m working doing what I’m supposed to do but it’s an elephant in the room.
