When was Toast’s current hybrid work policy for North America first introduced? The one with different requirements for on-time work for employees living within 25 miles from an office location. Also, is this policy actually enforced for those employees?

It’s awesome that the company spent all this money on renovating the buildings and creating the open floor plan seating just to find out the day of your meeting. You can’t use the office that you booked weeks ago because it has now become somebody’s personal office.

What is the actual point of all of this if they’re just going to change all of the Zirbel offices to individual offices? They should’ve just kept all the conference rooms and let these mo--n stay hidden in their office. This has been such a headache, such a pain, and honestly has created the lowest morale that I’ve seen in a company in my 35 years of working in the corporate environment.

It’s so unreasonable and so disrespectful to treat associates this way when we need a space for an urgent call, we do what we’re supposed to do in reserve it weeks ahead just to have it snatched from us.

Enterprise tech, Wealth, WI, Brokerage have been tightening the belt it seems.

They already know who's on chopping block with Boston office relocating to sea port, NC already at capacity.

So why not let associates know who's impacted?

There are people in the team who barely do anything, never show their face on cam, always working from home.

These guys have been coasting for a better part of 3 years now,
While the actual high performers have been living in stress, anxiety, and uncertainty.

Looks like there are major cuts on the horizon with the mood somber prior to holiday party, no one seems excited as they used to 4 years back,
Certainly not as excited as they were last year.

Are people going in this week? Not using any PTO, but based on the OOO messages, I’m assuming it’s going to be a ghost town.

So the only groups that get to continue working in 1:1 flex offices are the people who made the decision to turn 1500 into a watered-down version of a college library (the Implementation team) and the reorg henchmen in HR. How poetic.

Because no one else in the corporation has any need for a quiet workspace. Or as they said in the HMP townhall: “you think you can’t focus in an open environment, but the truth is, you can focus anywhere!”

How are you all maintaining 8 hrs in office ?
Staying 6 to 7 hrs is easily manageable to stay in office.
With early meetings, and again need to login at night to coordinate with offshore, maintaining 8 hrs is stretch.
Is it that mandatory to maintain 8 hrs or 6 to 7 hrs is acceptable?

I have it on good authority: the plan is first 4 days in unassigned seating, then 5 days.
If you don't like it, you'll be asked to leave (as stated in recent townhalls)

I think my favorite moment from this year was when Ryan had a Town Hall in Bartlesville so they emailed all bartlesville employees reminding them that they need to dress professionally at work and wear things like shoes.

Our VP sent an exhasperated email saying that she is doing all she can to "address the cleanliness concerns" in the office and that she has no control over the lack of desk availability. At least on our floor the break room fridge is a complete toxic waste zone and there are regularly old used plates and takeout containers with food still in them laying around.

Kinda funny that people at that level are having to hear and answer to those complaints. Maybe we can have a VP of Custodial Infrastructure?

What events are planned at your office in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday? My floor is having a potluck lunch.

What do you honestly spend more time doing every day, trying to sell anything or fixing the same simple problems for seniors over and over again? At some point it becomes pretty clear what the store has actually turned into, and that makes the whole closure feel less like a surprise and more like an overdue decision. We've basically ended up acting like a walk in help desk for the senior crowd instead of an actual retail location, and once that becomes the main part of the job, the writing’s already on the wall.

This place is a total sh-t hole. My sister works in Fire and hates her job and I'm in Total Loss and it is a complete disaster. It's not my Team Manager but his my crazy SM and CM that cause constant chaos. My poor TM looks like a scolded dog every day and tries not to take it out on us but really has no choice. This place has become so d-mbed down it's almost impossible to even have an intelligent conversation with most people. Clown show all over. I feel almost dirty when I sign off every day.

Is this for CR only ?

RR5 desks being uprooted in our department. Nice cubes being removed in favor of call center style desks sandwiched together with no privacy to speak to customers and clients alike. Floor will resemble a boiler room environment over the next month. I guess we are looking at the Sears customer support model from 1988?

WFH works for me so much better, but, hey - what to do.

First you have to search for a parking space.
Next after the parking lot experience, your search for a desk will be pretty much fruitless so you work in a break area.
Then when you have to go you have to search for an open stall.

Three hours at a ballpark is manageable but 8 hours of trying to find a usable toilet is utter craziness and then to have your manager ask where were you I see you were away from your computer for 20 minutes.

Email went out today telling us to go in on mondays for Friday bc Tuesday thru Thursday are the busiest days. Yeah a--holes you’re cramming us all in and making people show up into less space.

The record Halloween blizzard hit Minnesota inundating Twin Cities and Duluth both over 2 feet of snow.

Desi's 1st day of work as CEO was Friday Nov 1st. Somehow he showed up but people at 3M Center were given Friday off. Not sure about Cottage grove. I don't even remember how people were told but THAT 3M is a faded image of what is today. Sounds like SOLV is being ruined by Hanson.

The truth is that if you actually speak to any of those "other places" (San Ramon, Perth, etc.); none of them have a good thing to say about it.

To the dude constantly on your phone with no control over the volume of your voice: STFU or take it to a focus room. You know who you are.

My most minor gripe that would make me 0.5% happier about being in the office 5x days a week is better coffee. Also, why are we nickel and diming employees for drip coffee from the cafe..

1. Salaried employees who stroll into the office over a half hour after everyone has arrived and leaves exactly at 5:00. They know their boss doesn’t keep track of their whereabouts, so they come and go as they please. I know for a fact that particular ones are not putting in hours online in the evening and weekends to make up for this time.

2. Untrained or lazy employees who forward an email to random people / departments looking for help, and the subject matter has nothing to do with what our department handles. They CC others on the email to make it look like they are doing something, then the CC people bombard us with angry replies because we haven’t responded. So, it’s our problem to deal with since the original sender decided to punt the ball over to us.

Why do some people feel SPECIAL that they can spend the entire day in a focus room rather than the intended max 2 hours?

Can someone tell our executives to seek a style consultant. I remember when the board dressed well, shaved, hair was cut. I hope they dress better when the meet clients. It seems they all go for the Seattle Grunge look. The ladies look professional. The guys not so much.
