I would have liked someone to warn me when I was considering joining Pearson, so here we go: this is the most toxic company ever, you will regret joining

Some of y’all are really playing with fire. Sometimes silence is golden, quite a few people have posted themselves out of a job today, don’t become one of them.

Had a typically early morning lay off meeting today but they said it was a warning that we will likely be laid off in 45-60 days. What does that mean? Is that a 60 working notice or in 45-60 days I’ll get an official notice?

Buckle up and ensure your affairs are in order.

Obviously if you got this "error" email, you are on the layoff list.
If you got the email before 8am CST then get your resume polished. If you got it after, then you are probably ok. They sent some extra ones out to throw us off the scent. HR is putting all their braincells together to cover this up.

Tomorrow is Monday and a very important week at JRC. A PGL told me that layoffs will take place Thursday and Friday. If you work in FE/RXT and SP, get ready. You won't have a job next Monday. Serious business. Don't dismiss this.

TRENTON – Acting Governor Tahesha Way today declared that New Jersey will enter a State of Emergency at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 in preparation for a dangerous nor’easter storm expected to hit the state on Sunday, October 12 and continue into Monday, October 13. Parts of the state are forecasted to experience moderate to major coastal flooding, instances of inland flash flooding, sustained winds of up to 60 mph, localized precipitation of up to five inches, and very high surf potentially causing significant beach erosion and dune breaching. Executive Order No. 399 declares a State of Emergency across all 21 counties in New Jersey.

“Starting on Sunday, a dangerous coastal storm will begin to move past our state with extreme weather conditions for several counties, especially those on the Shore,” said Acting Governor Way. “In preparation for this storm, I am issuing a State of Emergency for all 21 counties out of an abundance of caution, authorizing our state’s emergency services personnel to activate as necessary. I urge all New Jerseyans to exercise caution, monitor local weather forecasts and warnings, stay informed on evacuation protocols, and remain off the roads unless absolutely necessary.”

Executive Order No. 399 will remain in effect until it is determined that an emergency no longer exists.

What is the plan for Monday? Governor extended it to Monday.

anyone know what happens if you continue to not adhere to the 4 day mandate even after the final warning?

This is how I see things going from a logical point of view. Look up what happens within a company before layoffs. Wayfair is going through a good portion of the list they say to watch for. I think most if us will be safe until after peak. They are moving around a lot of employees right now. If you think you are safe because you are a top performer think again. View the the list. Top performers are not safe. We are expensive. Be careful. They will look for any reason to let us go. They will be letting go of a percentage of us before the new year. Better for the bottom line and more profits for the last quarter. Many more after peak. Do your own research on the signs. Good Luck.

CDW’s is now officially dead money — the stock is down ~25% over the past year while the S&P 500 is up 16%, and Q2 showed revenue up 10% on a layup of a number reset but operating income was down 3% thanks to “margin pressure”. Hard to get excited when the CEO’s big vision looks like “steady hand” and “all weather team” while everyone else is lapping CDW in the rally. CEO should pivot to the AI trade, but they won’t. Jump ship if you can. Bets are that this quarter will be equally unimpressive.

To all folks who have been laid off or know someone who was laid off by Cigna, what were the signs?

Check the meeting rooms being booked by hr. They usually do a mass in person and book every meeting room. Usually before the pay period. Just a heads up

We all know cuts are coming, don’t wait to be surprised. Build up your savings, put more into retirement if you can, and quietly explore new roles. Landing something new can take longer than you expect, especially with the current job market, and remote options are drying up fast. Having a backup plan now is far better than scrambling later.
