I'm not going to waste time going on and on about the same things but who is actually going in to work at 8/9 and staying till 5pm? Obviously RTO 5 days means working from the office all 5 days but there's no way in he-l the majority is willingly... — read more
RTO Accommodation declined — Help!!!
I haven’t left my house since, ya know, the global pandemic that ravaged our world sent us all to WFH. So this new and unexpected RTO has taken a major toll on my anxiety. My therapist wrote me a note to take to HR, detailing my agoraphobia... — read more
What is your RTO cost? $2k/month? $3k/month? More?
What is this nonsensical RTO mandate going to cost you? Is RTO really all about foot traffic to justify the real estate investment? Are we secretly being used as pawns but told its for culture and collaboration but at the same time becoming a huge... — read more
A load of Kwap
Did anyone else notice in the Kwapcast how they're already starting to soften the language about RTO? It was indicated that the reason they didn't go for a 3 day RTO is because they felt like they'd only be able to get people to do 1 and it was... — read more
Corporate travelers-meal expense limits
Hi. Any PNC corporate travelers out there? What are the real meal expense limits? Is it truly $20 for breakfast, $0 for lunch, and $40 for dinner? Also, are the meal time windows strictly observed? Thanks.

Another wave of RTO emails
Another wave of RTO emails went out today. Just like this place to send out bad news on a Friday. RTO date set for June 15th for those who got the email.
Compensation Bands
Anyone notice that the compensation bands have been removed from the internal site? When asked, HR stated that the information has been removed for undisclosed reasons. Thoughts? Theories?
PNC is eliminating ABM position.
They had a meeting today with Branch managers and are announcing it to ABMs tomorrow. They will have until June 3rd to find a new job with PNC or otherwise
Rising costs and RTO
Gas prices jumping just in time for return to office! Who else is stoked?! Good thing my comp review rewarded me 800 extra dollars for the whole year! Just in time
Brilliant Leadership
Inspirational stuff from the 2026 Proxy Statement. Bill’s total compensation jumped from $22M to over $29M (32%) this year. Meanwhile, in the cubicles, we’re out here debating if our 1.5% merit raise covers the gas for the new 5-day RTO mandate... — read more

Layoff rumors????
Been seeing a lot of comments on earlier posts about rumors of layoffs. Was wondering if there is a similar pattern between now and the last significant layoff in 2023? Just want to be prepared and not caught off guard. Thanks! (Apparently PNC didn’t... — read more

Just got an offer as an underwriter and was wondering what the avg raise is, and what does career advancement look like at PNC
I know this a layoff forum so I apologize in advance if this sounds insensitive. Just trying to get a feel for the company since it’s 3 years before 401k/pension vest.
So is it really five full days?
I’m considering an offer at PNC but want to know what it’s actually like. Is it five full days? Do people badge in and then leave at lunch and work the rest of the day at home? I don’t think I can ever go back to five full days but the role seems... — read more
The Big Picture
Heard through the grapevine people in HR have said that they expected more attrition after the 5 day RTO was announced. So from this you could infer that a major goal, if not THE goal of this was to reduce headcount. Also this means that layoffs are... — read more
PNC return could boost Downtown Pittsburgh's daytime rebound

PNC is so stingy

I think we're done with layoffs for a while
The leadership will wait to see how many people walk out due to RTO and other issues before they pull the trigger again. It's cheaper to find a way to get folks to leave than have to pay them to get them out.
How are people willing to risk non-compliance?
I see many of my coworkers saying they plan to continue WFH despite the mandate. I'm jealous, honestly. But as the only income for my family, I can't take that chance. If they get fired, do they have a safety net? What's the thinking there? Genuinely... — read more

The RTO outrage will fade
As much as people are fighting it now, the reality is we'll adapt. We always do. The strong feelings about WFH will soften, and showing up at the office will go back to being the unremarkable default. It's inevitable. Sad but very much true.
We MUST Speak Their Language
HR and the higher-ups simply don't understand where we are coming from. No more speaking from emotion. We HAVE to speak in buzz words and LEGAL TERMS.
