Understand remote workers are part of Phase 2, but do we think any exceptions will be made for those who where hired into a remote position OR will they be given a choice (maybe with a relocation package) to move closer to an office. I’m asking... — read more

I'm done with this
I'm done with the stress, the constant drip of half-information, the endless waiting to see if layoffs are coming or not. I'm just done. From here on out, I'm quiet quitting. Any extra time or energy I have is going into finding a new job. This place... — read more
How RTO is most likely to go down
Not sure but if I had to guess: a RTO mandate requiring relocation or payout would be the way they would go. They are in the business of making money. They don't care about our preferences. Remote workers in multiple states is complicated for... — read more

Predict the next 8 months
Tell me what you think will happen from now until April. My predictions: Cable stripped to bare bones. CBS completely restructured. Most fully remote employees cut in November (I’m fully remote) so they don’t have to relocate anyone. ... — read more

curious if the decision was super easy for some, as I know it has been a bit harder for others.
We are being hit by several attrition tactics all at once
RTO is definitely one of them, make no mistake about that. It’s always been the primary goal of RTO wherever it’s rolled out. The least they could do is be transparent and communicate clearly about all the plans, whether it’s voluntary severance or... — read more
Volunteer Severance Package -VS- Severance Package in Novmember
It seems that they will be covering our healthcare costs (by paying the difference on COBRA) starting from the severance package in September. Does anyone know if we will receive the same healthcare support if we get laid off in November? From what... — read more
Voluntary severance with RTO and unemployment
I am getting some unclear information on whether one can get unemployment if taking this severance. A lot of policies for unemployment state that if one voluntarily leaves, they may be ineligible for unemployment.
Do SVP and above get a voluntary severance option?
I only see the severance package being offered to VPs and below. Is there any sort of similar options for SVPs and above? Or would they have to leave without a package if the RTO doesn't work for them? Just curious.
What does subsidized cobra mean?
I'm considering the severance package but am wondering if anyone knows what subsidized Cobra means? I assume our bi-monthly payment towards health insurance would dramatically increase? Especially when a family is on your account?

rto is a quiet layoff scheme
the return to office push is really a quiet layoff. during covid many companies overhired. now instead of open cuts, they pressure people back into offices under the culture excuse. here’s the kicker...... 70%+ of companies will demand 3+ days in... — read more
Remote Only
So the company is going to can all remote only positions and won’t hire for any in future? Even if you are not anywhere near an office? Or is RTO only for hybrid workers and remote being removed for them?
Achieving Cost Cuts Through Voluntary Severance
Does the voluntary severance program genuinely aim to reduce the number of involuntary layoffs, or is leadership planning to cut 2,000 positions regardless of how many people opt in?

RTO Announced
Phase 1 - Jan 5 for people assigned to LA and NYC offices Phase 2 - TBA in 2026 for all other employees

RTO in January 2026
