Especially those who really couldn't afford to lose their jobs right now. I see that a lot of seniors have been impacted. He-l-bent on destroying institutional knowledge. Boggles the mind.

Keep a positive attitude and you will overcome this minor setback.

I talked with a friend in private equity (He works at Blackwell) and he says that CST will soon be spun off to private equity. So just like Diabetes, folks that work at CST - you can expect to soon work for a spin off. Also FWIW, the company name has already been decided, it will be Aible. Good luck!

I was impacted, but in good spirits now since it took me a couple of months to find another role. I am giving my perspective and guidance to those who maybe affected next month.

If something feels off start applying immediately to other jobs, that is what help me achieve a faster turnaround in this job market. Those who got poor performance reviews out of nowhere with little to no warning helped me understand that except for family, no one is to be trusted.

When you are in the call with HR remain calm say that you will look over the severance package and leave. You'll have a few days to sign it with a clear head. Always have your keys, wallet, phone, and other with you at all time.

If applicable look at your state unemployment laws for additional income, but do watch how much taxes are withheld.

If you get a job offer, take it then keep applying for other roles or better yet apply internally once in so you get a job that matches your skill set. I REPEAT TAKE IT!

Get your medical checkups now! FSA used it.

You will get a message from old teammates about your status, but this is not a checkup. It is a check to see where you end up and some will be jealous to hear where you end up.

Trust your gut.

You are nothing more to any company than a line on a spreadsheet. They look at the cost of keeping you as an employee versus the cost of dumping you. A company accountant ran an algorythm on a speadsheet and you are choosen. You may have has a less than stellar review 5 years ago aka your boss is toxic. Perhaps your department is a cost center that needs to be trimmed to improve the balance sheet, or you make over the median salary for someone in your band. They often outsource to replace IT departments and marketing/sales. They could cut staff as a way to hide losses, without admitting it to the street. What ever the cause you are gone. Do the stages of grief, own it, but keep moving.

When Unilever laid me off 20 years ago, I had small children, alimony, and lots of bills. I drank th corporate Kool-Aid back then. I had to su-k it up and make finding a job my job. I worked retail while I looked, I did odd freelance jobs to keep my skills up. I did take another job at a lower salary 2 years later at another insurance company, then went to Cigna. The thing was, I survived, and when I felt the enviornment at Cigna had nothing left to offer me after 5 years, I put out my resume and moved on. I fired Cigna. I realized my job doesn't define me. I depend on me, not a company. It was a tough journey that humbled me. I survived and then I thrived.

I've over doubled my net worth in the past year while working at Xerox.

I'm not here to boast. I'm simply here to say that, despite job instability, you can set goals, improve your life, and grow your finances.

My salary is modest.

Attitude + Aptitude largely sets our Altitude. Toss in Focus and Perseverance and you have the formula for surviving a layoff and prospering well beyond it.

If I can do it on my salary, anyone can. What Steve does or doesn't do doesn't affect me anymore - and, frankly, I couldn't care less. I took from him his power to hurt me.

Anyway, I pray that everyone here has an awesome year. Let's nail our 2026 goals while Xerox sinks.

Maybe all the downvoting and “you’re crazy” commenting people trolling us will listen. This is easily the 8th time this site has accurately reported when layoffs would occur. It’s not to panic people. It’s to help us prepare. Prepare for transitioning, finances, prepare resumes, start looking at job market. While some may already be doing that, many have a wild fear of change and don’t.

Please let this be your wake up call. You need to be plugged in to your network, expanding it, strengthening it. You need to be touching your resume every couple weeks.

I’ve received four separate inquiries from different parts of the organization asking whether I have any open positions. One came from HR—they emailed me saying the individual was identified as a top performer and asked me to review their résumé for potential fit. If I decline an interview, I have to provide a reason, and HR has pushed back on my explanations in the past.
Another inquiry came from a department I’ve partnered with on projects, another from a direct report advocating for a former colleague, and the last came from a Director who was saying goodbye. In her farewell message, she asked us to keep her and her team in mind and included a brief summary of the three employees who were impacted.
I’m on the UnitedHealthcare side, and I want to say this to you: don’t feel embarrassed to reach out to colleagues and share your résumé. My boss and I always prioritize candidates who have been laid off—I’ve hired many people this way. Most of us understand what you’re going through, because today it’s you, but tomorrow it could be any of us.
Wishing you all strength and momentum as you move forward. You’re capable, you’re resilient, and better opportunities are ahead.

Hope CEO reassures them not to fear about their jobs and give them the holidays back. Take care of people and they will take care of business. Say nice motivating words, it will energize them. Please, I beg.

I escaped recently and everything - and I mean everything - is better. Not every company micromanages its employees or has a toxic environment. It might not be easy to get a job these days but if you keep trying, it's 100% worth it in the end. I'm a new man.

If you are reading this know that your are not alone. Many have given our heart and soul to this company and for some their entire employable lives. A great company values their greatest asset, it's people. Unfortunately Xerox for a long time has been reducing, outsourcing, minimizing the very talented people that had built the company. Whether it was Sales, operations, finance, back office all have been integral in keeping the machine running. Unfortunately we are at this crossroads now not because of the assetts but leadership over the years and each one squeezing the last few dollars from this once mighty brand. Its sad to see all for executive bonuses and shareholders ( they know where this ship is going). Meanwhile the hardworking backbone taking on more tasks, responsibilities, territories, all while making less money year over year. They will tell you to charge into q1 as this is the most important qtr ever in Xerox history. We have heard that record before and know whats coming. We will charge into this Quarter war screaming Xerox! Some of us will be taken out " Friendly Fire" some us will disappear into retirement, some of us will be pushed out of the plane with no parachute. It's been a pleasure working with such talented people. Its a shame it has come to this. We have done what we can day in day out for the customer and clients bandaiding what has been taken away year after year. There was so much hope, so much promise. They will say good luck in your future endeavors, I will say thank you and it's been a pleasure. Hope our paths cross again.

I am sure most, if not all of you, are stressed and anxious. The truth is nobody here has the answer for what is going to happen. Nobody who does know would risk their job to post something here. I’m nervous alongside many of you. I just wanted to wish all of you the best as we approach uncertainty and hope you can find some time to get rest.

Well… we made it. Somehow. Survived 2025! Through global chaos, rising prices, and enough corporate “restructuring” to make us all experts in plot twists.

As we roll into the New Year, I’m choosing to believe that 2025 is basically the universe’s “my bad” gift to everyone, especially to the folks who were laid off. If last year felt like a surprise episode of Survivor: Corporate Edition, this year deserves to feel more like The Great British Bake Off: supportive & warm.

To anyone who went through layoffs: you’re not just landing on your feet, you’re doing it with style, like a cat that also updated its résumé and learned three new skills on the way down. Your resilience is unreal, and better opportunities have a habit of showing up right after the worst timing imaginable.

We’ve proven we can handle uncertainty, and we can definitely handle a fresh start.

So here’s to a New Year filled with stability, good surprises, well‑timed wins, and the kind of hope that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. May we laugh more, stress less, and keep showing up for each other, even when the world feels like it’s running on outdated software.

Cheers to brighter days, better news, and a year that finally behaves itself.

And for the negative commenters (💩): may this be the year your inner critic takes a long vacation and lets your optimism muscle get some exercise.

I just want to take a moment to everyone here for helping to make Teradata what it is, the culture here is special because of everyone here. The work we do truly does make a difference and we're the go to data warehousing solution in the market and I'm grateful to everyone here. I was laid off when my baby was one month old. I spent the 2023 Christmas without any job. Without the hope of Christmas I would not have come back stronger. May peace be with you who have been laid off and are still finding a suitable role. Always choose justice and hate evil and corruption, and God will be with you through all the struggles. Hang in there folks. Being successful doesn’t mean you won’t fail. It means you can stand up again every time you fail. Don’t let Q decisions define your future success.

I wish we could all spend at least a little relaxed time with family, but anxiety seems to overshadow everything these days. I’m trying hard to switch off for a couple of days. Try to do the same, for the sake of your mental well-being.

Just a reminder as the holidays approach. Lives have been changed, careers abolished and destroyed, hearts broke and more
importantly families affected. They were not the first and surely will not be the last. Thoughts and prayers to those families.

To the few of the leader S H 1 7, can’t seem to spell ship, that steered that s h 1 7, once again can’t spell ship??, for the unfortunate whom times were not due but someone wanted to play Batman; they know what they did with no remorse, they know who they are and they gave some the ultimate gift this year. To the ones that made it all possible someday you’ll go far and we hope you stay there.

2026 Buckle up

Whether you celebrate an appropriated pagan ritual, or just the spirit of giving, may your year-end be excellent, and next year see your country and company return to sanity.

So I’ve been gone a year now as a field rep and when I left SMP had just rolled out. I remember having to adapt to the new hybrid position but was curious how much has changed since then. I do know reps had to take on quite a few more homes and wasn’t sure how the field was going to get everything done. Is management at least offering overtime and scheds/flags/some faults done remotely to help keep down the hours? Hope all of the field reps are doing well, a good life-work balance and aren’t overly stressed. Best wishes to you all! Thank you.

For the last 29 days, I’ve known I was leaving, but it never really felt like real life until now. I think subconsciously I was thinking, “This can’t be real,” or, “I’m going to wake up any minute now.” But no matter how many times I pinch myself, I keep coming to the same conclusion.

It’s over.

No long goodbyes. No tears. No calls. No texts. No Slacks.

Just silence.

It’s been one he-l of a run. I’d be lying if I said a part of me won’t miss it, but I’ve got to move on.

Was presented with a red folder and escorted off North Belt Campus this morning. I worked as an advisor in Technology for many years. Sadly, I knew this was coming. Projects for next year have been frozen. I've been battling to get approvals just to order a few $ worth of parts for the project. Pretty sure more people will disappear.
