A mandatory shift bid, AI, moving people’s roles, changing up departments (Which can often be a sign of layoffs creeping up), and changing metrics? My boss is all in on using H1Bs, even with citizens and green card holders on the team who have the same skills. He’s literally taking work from U.S. employees and putting an H1B's name on it. The H1Bs aren't even doing the real work; they're just shadowing and secretly managing us.

During the last week of August 2025, Senior Leadership instructed all departments to eliminate 5% of their workforce due to financial concerns with the decrease of enrollment. It seems that the individuals chosen were at random. Individuals were laid off effective immediately and were not given any prior notice. Individuals were required to turn over any and all University-owned technology. The University deactivated all individual's accounts within 24 hours. The University offered "severance" to some individuals.

Do we have an idea of ​​the teams most likely to be affected (OCI / OCC / support / ...) and the type of position (sales / pre-sales / support / ...) to anticipate the EEA layoffs?

It’s really ridiculous reading these bragging about Q1 financial success and people excited below in the comments with peans. When are there happening again?

The former chemical engineer and biofuels researcher at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland was furloughed two months ago. In August, PNNL laid him off, along with 90 other jobs being cut in recent weeks.

I’m really hoping they give us a chance to leave voluntarily because I would take it immediately. Things have been so tense and uncertain, it feels like the best move to step away before the stress really hits hard.
