I make more $$ than mgmt!

A manager asked me if I would be interested in management. lol! What a joke. I’m a rental agent. I make more money than operations managers, sales managers, senior operations mangers, GMs and I didn’t even go to college.

You have to be extra special to take a pay cut to work those ate hours and around the clock to make half the pay.

Plus I get paid weekly. Don’t be stupid ig you’re approached. It’s all lies.

Your Management Knows

If they're telling you they don't know they're either lying or they're on the chopping block too. Calls will begin on Thursday (100% no doubt).

This is THE worst kept secret in Verizon... and elsewhere for that matter. Upper management is ticked off that this leaked. Honestly, what do you expect when you "whack and hack" 15% across the board without really knowing what you're doing?

I am feel sorry for those let go because the job market right now is just not great. There is life outside of Verizon, you may have to look for it ... for quite a while.

Good luck people...

QCI: does it even matter?

My manager is giving me same copy pasted comments since past 5-6 quarter.

Why do we need to spend hours putting thoughts into how our work impacted our teams when the manager simply just adds one line and copy pastes same sh-t from previous quarters?

Is this normal?? What's an easy way to confront about this?

I have tried asking "I see some comments which overlapped previous quarter,
Would it be fair to say I'm not improving considering same commentary "

To which they blabber about something totally irrelevant to my performance

Cutting hours

How are you already telling me as a fresh managers my hours will be cut for Thanksgiving week how is that even possible and as a produce lead I have to make sure produce, deli, and freezer cooler looks good everyday smhhhhhh.

So by the Time Thursday comes we’re gonna be basket cases

I’m pretty sure by time end of week notifications go out most of management will need straight jackets from all the stress .We are all probably gonna be less useful after all this knowing if we made the cut we still may be on the next cut .Dan has made it very clear that these layoffs will be a way of life as a Vteamer .I mean go team go

Too many bosses and not enough real work

I left PepsiCo place because it felt like managers outnumbered the people actually doing the job. Meetings were packed with folks who barely contributed while a handful carried the load. It was all title collecting and empire building with no real value added. Watching layers pile up while workers got nothing in return was exhausting. I see very little has changed in the years since I left. I hope leadership eventually wakes up and fixes the mess.

Billy boy and his BS lines

Do you think Billy is so out of touch that when he says things like ‘all in’, 'know your brief' and ‘lead from the front,’ he genuinely thinks we’re inspired and in awe of him… when really we’re just thinking ‘bellend'?

Same with old man JC and his 'cool' teeshirts. Cringe off the scale.

They're rich and won't give a sht what us minions think. It's like when an old person stinks, or has food on their face, you hope someone close to them tells them for their own sake.

How is this place even functioning?

Working at this bank feels like watching a reality show with no script. Ideas fly around, half of them make no sense, and somehow projects still move forward like it’s all totally normal. I just sit there wondering when someone will notice how crazy things actually are.

My location is understaffed and poorly managed

And you can tell. Not exactly the best setup heading into the holiday season. Some Belk stores look amazing, and I know that only happens because people behind the scenes are ki-ling themselves to keep things together. But there’s only so much you can pull off when you’re short-staffed and the manager seems more checked out than actually concerned about performance.

Big Change in Chevron Exploration Leadership

Chevron has appointed a new Vice President of Exploration, bringing proven success from outside the company. This is a welcome change, as the performance of most current exploration managers has been consistently poor. Teams such as ERT, Excellence Exploration, GOA, and New Ventures between others, have not delivered the technical or leadership standards required. To move forward, Chevron will likely need to replace most of its Chevron's managers—up to 80%—to ensure stronger results. With new leadership, better times for exploration are ahead.

Can Anyone Confirm This?

I've been with Aetna for 7 years in Network; been given more territories to manage while no direct reports or any additional support to manage the inflow.. for example, I have 50 contracts to complete, yet receive 20 emails per day asking me to complete tasks that are emergencies.. I am months behind even if I wanted to catch up, I would work 24 hours a day 7 days a week with no hope.. every year gets worse.. I have essentially given up.. Is anyone else in this same boat? Upper management also is a joke.. those who su-k the best di-k get promoted regardless of their abilities.. It's laughable..

No management positions posted

There are no management positions posted on the job board. This time the RIFs do not allow you to look for something internally. If you’re out, there’s no positions to look around for. The only positions posted as of Friday were in retail stores. I’ve never seen this before, it makes things final.

Earth's most toxic employer

Here's an scheme to detox Amazon:

1) Eject Andy and his entire S-team.
2) Close 80% of offices. Go remote first (i.e. remote like the Cloud).
3) Remove 70% of managers, keep the top 30% based on team feedback/metrics.
4) Get rid of LPs. Stop saying that it's day 1 - Amazon has operated since July 5, 1994 - i.e. at least day 11000 (for those that can count).
5) Get rid of Forte, PIP, and URA targets.
6) Modify the hiring process so that most talented candidates are actually hired! Actually look at/study their background.
7) Reassign ICs to teams where they will grow and perform well.
8) Make comp way more competitive (i.e. Meta, NVIDIA, Netflix) and with actual refreshers.
9) Stop supporting Republicans tyrants!

Attention: store level H.R., working 7-3,8-4, or 9-5 mon thru Fri

If you are a full time H.R. and/or H.R. lead working mon-Fri. 7-3, 8-4, or 9-5. Your position is in danger of being eliminated by March 2026, just like the aforementioned post, a list is being compiled and that position is in great danger of being eliminated, and store managers will most like absorb those tasks.

Verizon Set Backs and AI 2025

Another Verizon setback is on the horizon. Cuts are being made without collaboration with leadership that is directly involved in the work. Not the slightest idea of who does what and their job function. Dan starts his vision by taking 10 steps back, and it will take many years to get back to where we are at the moment. While AI is the future, it often produces inaccurate results and information that is not even relevant to the data sets it has been instructed to review, summarize, and recommend. Can't wait to witness the lawsuits and chaos it produces.Well deserved to the leadership that is blind to the way systems and technologies are currently working!

Management is the problem.

Anyone else think that this week’s productivity will reach an all time low? Is there any hope of it improving the following week? The only chance management has of rallying the workforce is to significantly cut the bloated layers of management. Leaving the old CEO on the board for another year sent a loud and clear message regarding Verizon’s non-commitment to change. That was a very stupid move! Telling the entire workforce that they would find out in just three weeks if they still have a job is just off the charts D-MB! If Verizon cuts front line employees without cutting significant management you might as well lock the doors and sell off the assets.

Pretty sure management layoffs will continue right up till the unions contract which there will not be a strike

So once their done destroying the management already heard rumors that the unions already cut a deal with the company to settle the contract .They already came up with a plan to sell it to the membership as if it was the best they could Do .It will be just more of the same .Anyone thinking that their going to get all kind of concessions from company is nutz.Company nor the union want a strike

Cancerous Middle Management and Phantom Branches Remain

There's entire chains that remain on the foundry side absolutely disconnected from any actual engineering or manufacturing beyond the occasional random h1bs or DEI hires reaching out with obscure nonsensical requests. It's clear that these people don't know what's going on, often can't speak English , and contribute nothing to the foundries, and yet it's these tumors that remain while oblivious Middle management cuts the people actually doing things for the floor...
