The way Citi is handling layoffs is beyond disrespectful. Getting a random unexpected call saying your position is eliminated, with no clarity on severance, is barbaric. The uncertainty is hanging over those still working, waiting for their turn. It's clear to everyone, yet management acts oblivious.
I've been through layoffs before, and there's a right way to do it—team meetings, advance notice, incentives to stay and help with the transition. Citi has the resources but chooses greed instead.
They don't seem to realize this will backfire.
If they don't start treating people like human beings, they'll regret it. I'm ready to speak up and go to the media if needed. I've got nothing to lose by standing up for what's right.

Trump is reportedly considering banning American tech companies from outsourcing their work to India, and Silicon Valley is sweating bullets.

Here’s why this is huge: For decades, U.S. companies have sent IT work overseas because it’s cheaper.

In fact, by 2023, they spent a jaw-dropping $132B on outsourcing, with nearly 4 out of 10 tech jobs shipped abroad.

Most of that work went to India, which has built a $62B industry off American companies alone.

But Trump’s message is simple: if U.S. firms stop sending jobs to India, American workers win.

Supporters say it could bring back around 300,000 jobs a year that have been leaving the country.

Critics warn it could spark trade tensions with India, which has dominated outsourcing for decades thanks to lower costs.

This wouldn’t be Trump’s first move.

Back in his first term, he introduced rules to curb outsourcing, too, and now he’s hinting at doubling down.

If the ban actually happens, it could be one of the biggest shake-ups in tech and trade in years, hitting India’s economy hard and forcing U.S. companies to either hire at home or pay the price.

6k is 1/3. That’s the number. That gets the staffing to about 12k which is roughly half of what it was pre covid. That’s a huge reduction. With increasing output and content the goal is double the revenue of pre covid with half the staff. That’s how you turn a profit.

Beasley Media Group has carried out a new round of programming layoffs, affecting program directors and on-air talent in markets including Boston, Philadelphia, and New Jersey, just days before its Q2 2025 earnings release. Among those impacted are former WDHA Program Director Terrie Carr, who described her dismissal as a “one minute phone call,” and high-profile host Mike Missanelli, who had recently returned to Philadelphia’s 97.5 The Fanatic. The scope of the reductions is still unfolding, with notifications continuing through the day. This marks Beasley’s second layoff wave of the year, following cuts before its Q1 results.

The moves come as a cost-cutting measure amid ongoing revenue declines. Beasley’s Q1 revenue fell 10.1% year-over-year, resulting in a $2.7 million loss compared to a small profit in Q1 2024. Digital revenue, however, rose to 22% of total income, with operating income margins improving significantly. Q2 revenue is also pacing down 10% per management guidance, leading the company to trim traditional programming roles while continuing to invest in digital operations.
