Even for people who don’t get cut offshoring adds to my workload so it essentially lowers mu salary. How? Because I now have to coach and fix the mistakes these new “equal partners” make every day. Add that to my regular job. H1B Visas are changing and hopefully offshoring will get hit too.

Wasn’t it great to see the person that represents Verizon to Congress to help offshore jobs, go to Ireland where those American jobs were moved to and celebrate it on LinkedIn? Leadership personified! Exhilarating and exciting indeed. Can’t wait to see what lives and communities they offshore next!

US-headquartered Truist Financial plans to set up a tech centre in Hyderabad, and has floated a tender for firms to set it up and initially manage it. Infosys, a Truist vendor, is likely to bid for the contract pegged at least $250 million. The centre aims to hire 3,000 employees over five years.

Worries about being replaced by offshore contractors or poorly implemented AI tools are often refered to in the main thread:

I'll be honest, i'm not feeling great about this announcement. Ive seen it before at previous companies and when this happens, majority of the opportunities dry up and most new positions open overseas. Wondering if anyone has an idea of what's going to go down. Are they planning layoffs? What areas are they planning on offshoring?

Is that the end goal?

Former tech worker here. I left a few years ago. I am curious, how much have they increased the number of H-1B and offshore workers in the last 3 years?

That’s the only thing you can truly count on working here. So I’ve stopped getting invested. There’s no real career path, no long-term payoff, and definitely no sense of job security. I treat my role like a temp position now. I show up, get my required tasks done, and that’s it. No extra effort, no engagement beyond what’s necessary. When my number’s up I’ll be ready to walk away without regrets. It’s just how you have to approach this place if you want to stay sane.

Long story short, I've about had it to my wits end with my offshore manager who I got reassigned to late last year. I am only a small minority on my team that's based in the USA. I get little to no support from my manager, they blatantly ignore slacking coworkers or instances of offshore team members HEAVILY inflating their task estimates or coming up with bs excuses every day when asked about progress on their work. I don't think I've seen them ever meet a single deadline without pushing everything in the backlog onto the USA devs. Manager is too passive and seems content with letting the US workers get walked all over. Why the f*** are they being put into managerial positions over US workers????

Can you imagine if there were a tariff on 'human capital' for companies like AT&T which are stacking their payroll with overseas workers from India, et al.?

How much more talent will Wells Fargo lose with their bullying tactics, offshoring US Domestic jobs, while they lack efficient risk management & controls at the same time? How can a CEO talk about being more efficient when his strategy has been proven to be unsustainable and fails (offshoring).

When will the BOD or Shareholders wakeup! You should be pi---d. The CEO is only positioning the company for “short term gains”, if any. Offshoring jobs for cheap labor is a way to make the balance sheet look good over the short term. Meanwhile the cracks have begun to appear. The CEO will leave this company worse than it ever was.

His offer letter provides him a golden parachute after 5 years in his role. Do you think it is a coincidence that the “assets cap not being removed until maybe 2025” was leaked? Clearly, This leak is to drive a narrative for the CEO who will leave next year per the terms of his offer letter, and the asset cap will remain over the company.

The guy has accomplished nothing but more fines and lying to shareholders and customers. Someone with that authority do something! He is creating more risk, the cracks are beginning to appear and affect our customers. The stock price has been the worst under this CEO.

WAKE UP PEAOPLE!! Hiring offshore does not make the company more efficient! It does the opposite, and creates risk! Offshoring also does nothing for the US economy. All those shops and restaurants that want employees to fully return to office don’t understand that it will not happen. Just look at all the building consolidations. That shows that the Strategy is not about collaboration, or better together, or any of that. IT IS ABOUT REDUCING COSTS BY FIRIBG US EMPLOYEES AND HIRING CHEAP, UNQUALIFIED LABOR TO DRIVE THE NARRATIVE THAT “THE FIRM” IS MORE EFFICIENT.

All the Shartman is really doing is making sure it looks like he cut costs, and reduced headcount while he approaches the end of his 5 year agreement stated in the CEO’s offer letter. He will then leave, and the conpany will continue to crumble from the severe harm and toxic workplace created by this chump. Someone standup! All the red flags are there. Wells Fargo is now the company to pay the highest amount of fines ever. BILLIONS OF MONIES that could have gone to investments, employees, and shareholders because of CURRENT LEADERSHIPS FAILURES.

MAYBE SOMEONE SHOULD FORCE THE CURRENT CEO, SENIOR LEADERSHIP, AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO DO “MORE WITH LESS”.

Some support center employees are being told to find another job. As many as 50 percent to 90 percent of those departments are being told this. By the way, those jobs are still needed, but now those jobs are being sent to Bulgaria and Costa Rica. Shouldn’t that be illegal?
