How many affected?

Just IT today? Sounds like a lot of people are being laid off. Wishing the best to everyone affected.

Rumor is there are some layoffs/RIFs happening in the CHQ segment. Anyone hear anything?

are we all part of a game?

If you are impacted, what are the things you can/should ask for except for the severance? Outplacement support? Therapy? Keeping equipment? What? I'm sure there are things and resources that are available but you have to know what to ask for.

I'm EMEA based, but surely some of these are global as well. Let me know! When/if I'm impacted I want to make sure I drain every single resource along the way.

A 50 km radius (not commuting distance!) defines “near remote,” while 100 km defines “distant remote.”

Our colleagues within a 90 km radius may have to commute 130 km twice a day or spend 4–6 hours daily in the car, depending on highway access and traffic - just for “collaboration.” Even if they’re part of a global team with no local contacts, spending 80% of their time on international projects and calls. All in the name of “better collaboration”?

If this is the new rule, then I’ll stop being flexible in EMEA. No more calls with Asia at 8 AM or the US at 11 PM. I’ll come in for a 9–5 job instead. Asia can have the first hour, the US my last two hours. Oh, I’ll be so much more productive. Not.

Excuse me, but how does this help, aside from forcing people out? It’s a slap in the face to those already ignoring labor laws, working late for 3M, only to have another meeting nine hours later after barely seven hours of sleep. Canceling my evening plans with friends for important meetings? Yeah, sure.

I have no words for this. Or for how I feel right now.

What’s going on?

Is this information confirmed? I've heard this rumor many times, but none of the details seem reliable. If anyone knows anything for certain, please share. It's better to be prepared, I guess.

Will there be layoffs in January? If so, which areas will be subject to Cecere's Cleaver this time?

Any chance we will have the Accounting department sorted out by Summer?

Will Chevron keep the accounting department around? I feel like they'll need us because our assets are specialized more than others.
