OHAI role

Should one consider joining Oracle given lots of negative reviews everywhere? I am hesitant to take any risks and would appreciate your advice, thanks.

Posting from the UK, lot of rumours of layoffs happening on the on-perm teams but would expect them by now any insight ? The atmosphere toxic and a horrible place to be working , everyone is are on PIPs are they trying to manage people out?

No more layoffs at Oracle!

Or at least that’s how it looks with the lack of activity on this board! The last few threads have been off topic, and any actual layoff that have been reported have been small departmental realignments. Perhaps the stress is off!

No More Billionaires

The social contract in this country has been broken, we’re living in the Gilded Age 2.0. We need to tax these sociopaths at 99% just like after WW2. Our country is falling apart and they’re trying to replace workers with AI. A revolution is coming. — read more

Kiss the Ring

By all US cultural measures Larry is a major success. Be thankful for the privilege of contributing to his lifestyle.

New layoff 1/17/24

Just got cut this AM. Looks like at least 10% of the B2C support workforce is being let go. I know of at least 7 others and only 84 in that group. So that is a good number.

The silence works for Oracle

I bumped into two people this week, one at IKEA, and one at the Mall. Both had been laid off in November. I had not heard! These are both folks who had mentored me in the past, so I was shocked. Keeping quiet is the Oracle way!

Any suggestions?

I am on vacation, SRs Sev1 keep coming up. I have to take the calls, so much for vacation. There is no overtime to be claimed. What should I do?

We do need layoffs

We have several layers of management that could be removed without anybody noticing. The problem is, when it comes to cuts, it's never the fat that gets removed. Oracle keeps removing the muscle, to the detriment of both the employees and the... — read more

Support Su-ks

I am done working for the Hyperion Support team. This has one of the worst leadership who is biased. There has been nothing done so far and all we do is to react to escalations and follow what other teams are doing even if it does not make sense. We... — read more

As the year winds down to a close...

...and the Solstice reminds us of life's eternal promise of renewal, I'd like to take the time to remember that Oracle chose once again not to give their employees any sort of raise despite the increased cost of living. #NoFocals.

One of the biggest fails we have is our marketing

One of the biggest fails we have is our marketing and lack thereof. True marketing has been replaced by self-serve-self promotion of "personalities" along the lines of "likes" and "views" without any connection to actual sales or success. I've been... — read more

Looks like with all the RIFs oracle is still bottom of the market. I guess we can say goodbye to any pay increases next year without more RIFs

Still at Oracle, still hating it
