Seeing lots of corporate level posts but what about the situation at your station? All quiet at mine so far (being vague in case Sonny Boy is lurking here).
They want us to quit
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The goal is to get many of us to the point where we can’t take the stress anymore and walk out on our own. That saves them money on severance. That’s why they’ll drag this out into several rounds. That’s... — read more
Layoffs at CBS
Do we think there are going to be any layoffs at CBS???
Sooo… not really “one and done”?
If we go by the media reports, that doesn’t seem to be the case. But then, who still trusts leadership at their word? We’ve been stressing for weeks over the coming big round, and now it sounds like it might turn into a drawn-out affair. No company... — read more
I really hope the severance matched what was offered to us in Sept
Is there any chance they'll give us less than 2 weeks per year of service?
At this point, they may as well lay me off
It’s a better option than staying in this mess of never-ending anxiety.
1000 layoffs in round 1 Wednesday
According to Bloomberg. Wonder when round 2 will come.
Remote Workers Speculation
my manager told me he expects remote workers outside LA NY to be hit very hard this week as they plan to phase them out anyway .. if their job was needed - would rehire this is me - he told me he doesn't have the list - who knows about that... — read more
What to do if you've been laid off
I'd like to start a tip thread for any impacted folks this week. I was laid off a year ago and fortunately have managed to get enough income to not net a negative this past year, but don't kid yourself -- the market is that bad out there. No matter... — read more
T or W
just curious .. the HR post says Wednesday but my boss seems to think it's Tuesday We are WFH all week .. encouraged to WFH anyone else ... also email or manager zoom ?
Confused about WARN, please help clarify
How do layoffs work with WARN? If WARN requirement is 60 or 90 days depending on the state, is that your severance? For someone that's been here for 1 or 2 years, would severance get bumped up to the WARN requirement instead of the 2 or 4 weeks?... — read more
Taylorverse is over
appropriate news for this week: https://puck.news/taylor-sheridan-is-leaving-paramount-for/
This is the week
It’s been an absolute pleasure working with all of you. I pray for the best for each and everyone. I’ll see ya on the other side!
I just want this to be over already
I want to be able to sleep through the night again. I haven’t had a proper night of sleep in what feels like months.
Prorated Bonus
Will managers or directors will also get the prorated bonus or it's only VP and above?
Just wanted to say good luck to everyone in case they start doing the layoffs on Monday.
There has been some chatter that layoffs might be Mon/Tues/Wed next week given the sheer size of the layoffs so just remember this does not define you nor is this your fault. Sending positive vibes and thoughts to everyone.
Is there an official Layoff Policy & Procedures Document?
Just want to see what the guideliness are rules are. I am not asking for this to be leaked but if you can point me where to look at internally I'll find it myself. I dont want to ask HR or my mgr.
Severance Packages
Hello Are severance packages paid in one lump sum or bi weekly like a pay check?
So remote folks shouldn’t expect anything definitive until the dust settles?
I’ve heard so many different versions, and it’s honestly confusing. From what I can tell, there’s still nothing final. Unfortunately, it sounds like the uncertainty for remotes will drag on a bit longer, especially for those who don’t neatly fit into... — read more
Who here hasn’t had their mid year check in?
I haven’t had my mid year check in, though I just noticed in my Managers diary his other direct report has his booked in. I‘m guessing this isn’t a good sign for me and I‘m going to be affected by the layoffs.
Largest layoff yet
This has to be the largest layoff that the company has had in several years if it ends up being 2,000. In 2023, I believe it was a few hundred so it is going to be so interesting to see how next week plays out and how the ones who survive carry on.
CBS News
Has anybody heard anything? My manager played d-mb when I asked him (which makes sense) but wondering if anyone else received more transparency about what will happen here.
I have heard this 2000 number is all US based employees
So, it's a bigger impact than I thought as I thought it was a global number. Oh, well

Can we recap what we know so far?
Let's use this thread?
Are layoffs definitely happening next Wednesday?
And is everyone on the list supposed to find out that same day?
nickelodeon?

How many are left to go?
We know some people were already been cut. Is there a way to know how many are still left?
why do they always wait so long to do it?
My question is with all these layoffs - they always know it’s going to happen and have the lists so early. Why does management and execs always wait till a certain day to make the cuts? Why not just do it as soon as possible to avoid all this stress... — read more
Next Week (Oct 29, 2025)
I work in HR, and I can say with 99.9% confidence that the New York and Los Angeles layoffs are scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Before you read the following, know that yes, it's that bad! - Most line managers still have no idea what’s... — read more

Phase 2 RTO Announcement
When will the email be sent ordering remote Phase 2 employees to RTO? I heard rumors it will be as early as January 2026. Anyone with intel on the matter?
There will be no winners here
Those who avoid being laid off might be considered lucky, but think about it. These layoffs will be huge. Teams will be losing multiple people. Who'll be doing the work they used to do going forward, since it certainly not going to disappear? People... — read more
Benefits Email
I’m greatly disappointment in this company for sending an email encouraging employees to sign up for their annual benefits knowing most won’t be here in 2026. It feels incredibly insensitive and tone deaf. I understand that this is business, but we... — read more
I took off next week and you should too
I’m using up PTO next week Monday through Friday and here’s why you should too. It’s been proven that if you’re OOO during layoffs you don’t get laid off. They cannot lay you off when you come back because the lay offs need to happen on that date... — read more
