It's exhausting to feel like we're just a line item to be eliminated
Whenever they talk about reducing costs, we're the cost they want to cut. Do they seriously think the company can survive without the people who actually do the work? Not the ones who attend meetings about meetings, but the people who keep things running. We're supposed to be their best asset, but we're treated like we're completely disposable. Job security feels like a distant memory at this point.
This isn't surprising
Looking at how things have been run, it's no shock we're in this position. The whole operation is stuck in the past.
I keep wondering when this cycle of layoffs will finally stop
They can't keep cutting forever, eventually there won't be anyone left to cut. But even if it does stop, is there any reason to stay? Whoever's left will just be expected to do the all the work of everyone who was cut, for the same pay. I don't see a happy ending here.
No incentive to work hard
There's no reward for hard work at Oracle anymore. The raises are terrible, nobody gets recognized, whether you're the best or just getting by, it's all the same. So I keep asking myself why I should even try. The answer I keep coming back to is that I probably shouldn't. Just do what's required and move on. It's not worth the stress.
Endless faffing about
The problem with DXC is that very few people seem to know what they're doing, and even those who do are often locked out because they don't have the permissions they need.
I spend longer on status calls listening to people say they don't know or aren't sure than I do doing any actual technical work. We're all just sitting around waiting for nothing to happen.
I'd probably quit if I thought this was going to continue forever, but I'm fairly convinced the whole thing will crash and burn before the end of the year. So I'm not about to walk away from the possibility of a redundancy package.
For now, the job is basically: dial into two status calls a day and listen to the same drivel on repeat. I have no idea what they are trying to deliver, that bit has been totally lost in all the faffing about everyone does around here.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
Live your legend
y so serious (negative)
internal sentiment at this company is too negative. hard to work with some people/teams with sh-t attitude and outlook as a motivated new hire and outsider, trying to make it work. cant even explain how much worse my last gig was and it was rated one of the best global employers, for years, as fortune 100. opentext is no different than other companies: team, manager, business group dictates all. if you’re developing a 30+ year old product to match what industry solution peers already have……please. like get real about who you are, what you do, the market, the future, and show up with some humility and accountability. /rant
When did the Nike Sport Research Lab become toxic?
Not sure I understand how this happened. I’ve only been here 5 years, but the Sport Research Lab seems to have crazy low morale. A lot of people are abusing the workplace complaints system to attack bosses and colleagues. It didn’t always seem like this. Now leadership is doing these silly culture exercises to try and solve this huge problem because everyone is afraid of being targeted by their own co-workers.
Is it like this in other departments? Because it’s really bad over here in NSRL.
nothing matters
the work you do is meaningless. This job is meaningless. They don’t care about you. Go find a better job. This company will never recover from this. They are programming you to endure this type of dystopian workplace nightmare don’t accept it. Run. Layoffs will continue. Org charts are still bloated.
How can AT&T improve morale?
You should not feel disrespected. You should be grateful and eager to work hard with a song in your heart!
Teamworks: I don't think senior executives are on the same page
In a previous town hall, the senior executive who will not be named listened to the frustration of senior directors (plural) under him, as well as chat entries of attendees, on Teamworks which made them lose valuable talent.
The feedback is in unison: Teamworks is not worth the negative impact to employee's welfare and retention. In the end, this senior executive said "Don't worry about teamworks. So long as we don't see an average of five hours of work per day, it's fine."
Well his other cohort, another senior executive, has been going around in staff meetings pressuring managers to get tighter on Teamworks or else they themselves will get in trouble.
Same company (Hughes), two senior executives, two different perspectives on Teamworks.
Used to be a great company
Somehow, over last 10 years, especially since 2019 things have gone to sh-t. Now, you may say it's her and I'd agree but I think we have major problem stemming from the weak c-level lineup (and one layer below).
VCF Div 25% layoff in Nov
Why can't RV and KP just do it once a year. The uncertainty makes people unproductive and aggressive. The environment in PA is hostile
I was layed off in recent restructure
For all of you here who are still waters employees enjoy the ride.
I was recently made redundant.
It is one of the worst feelings in terms of life change, people say no one died it's just a job,but it's not, to loose your job in these circumstances is devastating, I cannot put into words the mental effect this has had, yes no one has died but all your hard work and effort you put into the company are all wiped out in one moment, when you are told your role is been made redundant and you are no longer part of the corporation.
The hardest part in all this of this is why, when the corporation are still activley hiring and you ask the question what did making my role redundant really achieve, did it create synergy reduce reporting lines what did this really achieve in terms of delivering benefit, or living my legend.
I feel deeply betrayed and disrespected by Fidelity
I thought their reputation preceded them. I thought they cared. I thought they’d respect me and the quality of work I do day in day out with much overtime. I thought they offered respect
So far I’m finding I was duped by this persons.
I feel like they don't give a rats behind about me, my qualifications, my skills I’m just a number.
Something shifted maybe HR co-opted Abby with their lies and divisive mentality of the dei legion. But they aren’t looking to promote or help or encourage solid employees. Very disappointed.
A reminder Sarah Londons salary in 2025 was $19,506,298
:)
They don’t care about you xoxo
Smoky or Smoke and Mirrors?
Whoever had the idea to bring on a dog as the Chief Pawsitivity Officer is a genius. She’s super cute and everyone loves her. She has a fan clubs. Great distraction to the fires burning all around the Association as they lay folks off and cut back on benefits, etc.
Worth $7M no Liabilities
I have spent 30 years at Intel and have accumulated about $7M with no liabilities. I am early 50's. I guess my issue is I don't feel $7M is enough to retire. However, the RTO has removed my joy and I keep feeling like "why do I put up with this". I feel like I am doing a great job, but otherwise no longer have ambition for more promotions.
For awhile I was looking for other jobs, but now that the stock is up, I have another $1M if I just stay 2 more years. Do most of you feel the same way?
Remember this happened
For those who forgot we had a coworker die in the office and she was not discovered for several days. How many systems failed her? If you think you should give your life to this company remember that happened. Reinvest in your family and community.
Hope as a Strategy
Hope in one hand and relieve yourself in the other and see which one fills up first.
And repeat the mantra "I am a close personal friend of John Donovan".
Dell is a sinking turrd
Dell is a sinking turrd of a company. Everybody knows it.
It's so boring
Working for optum is so boring and mundane even being in a role that's supposed to require compentecy HA. Can someone from HR locate me via vpn and put me off the next layoff pleaseeeeeeeeee. I hate my life here ! There's a ton of people stressed about layoffs that NEED their jobs. Lay me offffff you tards
Employee ratings
There has a been a interesting string of posts here about how morale is improving at Uniti. If that is true how do you explain the falling employee ratings on glassdoor? It has shrank over the last year to 3.0 out of 5. That's the lowest of any major player in the industry. Only 39% of employees say they would recommend a job there to a friend. That does not sound like a company on the rise.
Losing employee account money
Wellsfargo is annoying employees and so they are taking money to other banks, I am doing it too, Laid off , retired employees doing it too.
Wells should come up with some plan to retain good employees and keep them happy.
Long Week
It’s going to be a very long stressful difficult week! Hopefully we all hear the news soon and it’s everything we hope it is whatever it is we want. Good Luck everyone
We’re on a road to nowhere
Don’t know where we’re going, so we won’t know when we get there
2Q earnings Wednesday and what’s in store
Everyone should tune into 2Q earnings on Wednesday and witness “leadership’s” spin on their reality vs ours and our customers. What’s the anticipated playbook? If like other earnings or townhalls it will go something like this:
1) Credit Hoarding and Blame Deflection: Stankey will take personal credit for all successes, but scapegoat realities or market factors for any poor metrics, failures, or missed targets.
2) Spinning Data: He’ll present metrics selectively to inflate achievements while minimizing or altogether hiding negative data/results.
3) Focusing on Optics Over Substance: He’ll prioritize vanity metrics like PR splashes or superficial growth instead of addressing structural issues or the long-term sustainability of the corporation.
4) Gaslighting Employees: He’ll publicly contradict internal realities; he will claim the company is thriving while employees experience understaffing, canceled projects, and record level layoffs and burnout.
5) Silencing Dissent: He’ll negligently ignore bad news, punish employees (no matter their level) who report operational failures or low morale, and exclude critical voices from high-level conversations.
6) Lack of Empathy for Stakeholders: He’ll dismiss the toll that poor organizational performance (e.g., RTO and targeted layoffs, restructuring) takes on the workforce and quarterly results.
We're just an expense
They see us as a cost to cut. Do they think they can survive without the people who actually do the work? We're treated like we're disposable.
Why are people always so angry here?
I'm genuinely curious. If you hate your job so much, shouldn't you be trying to get out? I'm happy where I am, and I come here because I fear losing my job, not because I hate the company. The overwhelming hate I encounter here all the time is always shocking to me.
Will this ever end?
How much more can they cut before operations suffer? And by the time it stops, nobody will want to be here anyway.
This won't end well
I don't have the same level of hatred for this place that a lot of people do, but I'm also not blind. The constant layoffs aren't a solution, they're just a way to delay the inevitable. You can only cut so many people before there's nobody left. I don't see how this ends well.
SRP is a joke
New name . Same horrible neglected products. The once proud data protection division is a shell of what it was and is mostly made up of the hangers on being replaced with the ngsa graduates who don't know any better and just want to get out to the field to them half your pay is the dream job and a massive raise. Many of the leaders are protected . Bainenl should go sniffing around there lots of dead wood and useless dead weight that if you fired the Monday hardly anyone one notice. Sad but true.
Sad state of affairs
I look around and it seems like nobody cares about the state of our stores. It's pretty depressing.
Anybody else notice the apathy is spreading like wildfire?
You can see it everywhere. People have completely stopped trying. Management doesn't care about us, so we don't care about our jobs anymore.
Brain drain
Our best people are leaving and nobody seems to care. The average tenure is dropping fast. How do they think this will end?
Anyone still happy here?
With all the gloom, I'm wondering if there's anyone who actually still enjoys working at this place. Not just tolerates it, but actually likes it.
I feel worse for the people who still work here than the ones who just got let go
It's awful seeing coworkers lose their jobs, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. At the same time, this place has had serious issues for years that leadership never bothered to fix. Looking back, almost everyone who's left has ended up happier somewhere else. I'm starting to think the people who walked out last week may have gotten the better deal.
They don't give a damn about us
Morale is in the gutter due to cuts and leadership couldn't care less. They don't seem to realize that stressed employees aren't productive employees. Or they don't care.
I call BS on IBM’s hybrid cloud strategy
IBM has a major gap in its product portfolio. We don’t make and sell devices that have GPUs. This is what enterprises are clamoring for AI training and inferencing at scale, which is way more powerful than the accelerators we have on IBMZ and Power. And IBM Cloud can’t compete against the hyperscalers, which are expensive, however ideal for running AI use cases at scale. We have a strong AI product portfolio, although so do a lot of companies. We’ve acquired a lot of companies that complement our core products and have a massive ecosystem. But most days, I wonder -
What does IBM even stand for? Where do we even belong in this rapidly evolving world?
I don’t believe IBM will fail. However we all, especially our Senior Leaders, need to really think about what we actually stand for. Not this BS hybrid cloud leader statement. It’s about crafting a real vision that inspires the world. It’s about culture change to invigorate low morale at the ranks. It’s about picking up this company and giving it a really good shake. If we don’t do something drastic, then the free fall will continue.
