Sympathy goes out to this worker and family who has passed working for CVE. I guess all the safety programs and COIMS ect could not save him.

Seattle was once safe, but not anymore
According to the Employment Security Department (ESD), 2,198 Seattle-area employees were among the approximately 16,000 roles cut. Amazon first announced the layoffs on Jan. 28.

Shooting near train station
Not a safe area to be after dark, unless you are carrying:
Police say a man fired shots after an altercation with a security guard outside a Corktown bar early Saturday morning. The incident happened at around 1:17 a.m. in the 2100 block of Trumbull Avenue near Michigan Avenue. The security guard, a licensed CPL holder, returned fire and struck the man.
NIPAH VIRUS OUTBREAK
Why are we not hearing about this from CVX health & medical, particularly since there is so much travel to and from India in our employee and contractor population?
What is the company doing about curtailing or cancelling altogether travel? This is how it started with the previous pandemic, and this virus has a very high mortality rate.
Please respond, Chevron.

What is happening at the Midland office?
Lots of EMS, fire and law enforcement on site.
They never care
If the schools are closed for icy roads why isn’t the bank closing? They don’t care about our safety. Almost spun out completely. Have to come into office for my 3 days though 🤡
Winter Weather
Just a quick rant….why in all that is holy do we have to wait for management, who does not live in a location where they are dealing with ongoing below freezing temperatures and lasting impacts of the winder storm that hit this past weekend, to “allow” us to WFH
Why won’t a team manager who is onsite just say I am the manager on site and the conditions are still bad so I’m going to let my team WFH.
Just sad…..
Compromise safety for the sales launch
Central station made a poor call on being open today. It’s apparent its solely for the sales launch. Fossil is risking lives over a day of wining and dining international partners.
Hitchhike to work?
Not sure how I’ll be getting to work at PNC
tomorrow being that public transit has been suspended. I’m probably going to be told to drive in and risk my life on the parkway. SMH
Great job COP Alaska

Layoff in Early Feb - US and India (GCC)
Heard there is another wave of layoff coming in Early Feb hitting US and India - GCC, anyone know anything about this ? Ironically GCC folks are scrambling for safety after taking away American jobs
HouseCalls, are we safe for today?
So far haven’t heard anything from the East Coast. Is everyone ok?
Severance should be higher
I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but with the job market the way it is right now, it isn’t unrealistic to expect that people laid off today won’t find new positions anytime soon. If we’re being kicked to the curb, the least they could do is provide a better safety net.
How I know our leaders don’t care about us
Facing a dangerous cold snap that will impact most of the HCSC offices, not a single message was sent from anyone that said “you know what, because we value your health and safety, don’t worry about badging in on Friday. Your wellbeing is our more important to us than checking a box or monitoring your whereabouts.”
Days Without Death
The polish is off Freddie's safety record. Another death. Quick to blame it as a "medical incident".
Corporate leaving and going to shortlines
Matt Igoe- number 2 BNSF to RJ Corman
Colby Tanner -BNSF Executive Officer to OmniTrax
Tammy Middleton - chief BNSF Chief Legal Executive and executive officer -appointed to OmniTrax Chief Legal Officer
Top 3 under Katie Farmer all to shortlines in less than a year, all of which have either taken over BNSF mechanical facilities or TY&E terminals, or in OmniTrax took over facilities only to have BNSF come in later and take them back over due to substandard maintenance and Inspections
Starting to see a pattern, of which history repeats itself, when OmniTrax came in significant cuts were made to BNSF system wide with a 10 year hiring freeze in mechanical, of which led to understaffing, increase in injuries, and foreman hiding in bushes to watch mechanical until a safety rule was violated so everyone was on a level S until they decided to terminate an employee for minor infractions, so everyone was walking on eggshells
They don’t care about us
The lack of any mention of relaxing RTO minimums while also sending out daily safety alerts (sometimes more than 1 a day) to those of us working in downtown Minneapolis is appalling.
OSHA Laws Apply. Downtown PNC Cities are Unsafe
I will remind everyone that according to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, your employer has an obligation to ensure your safety in your job.
Can anyone argue that these buildings in the major cities where PNC has office space (Pittsburgh, Philly, Detroit, Columbus, Baltimore, Cleveland, Chicago, etc) have gotten SAFER post Covid, post summer 2020? Look at the data - it's gotten way worse.
Another employee right we must all seek is for our own safety. That would be a strong pillar of a unionization effort. Can you imagine if the current Minneapolis situation was occurring nearby a PNC office building. It could certainly happen.
Will PNC care about us then? Likely, no - "get your butts back here 5 days / week!"
Maybe Verizon should start listening and not firing their Engineers to save a buck..
The crashes of two Boeing 737 MAX planes which claimed the lives of 346 people on board and how Boeing may have been more concerned with financial gain over the safety of their passengers. Guess what they didn't listen to their Engineers and the same thing is happening at Verizon. Obviously losing cell service for a day isn't as catastrophic as a plane falling out of the sky, but the same principals are applied. Watch the documentary on Netflix Downfall: The Case Against Boeing
Actual crime statistics for the Train station neighborhood 😳
Don’t let your guard down around there, especially after dark.
As of mid-December 2025, the Detroit Police Department reported:
241 burglaries,
662 vehicle thefts,
39 s-X as--ult cases,
116 robberies,
6 homic--es
The Detroit Police Department's 3rd Precinct proactively patrols the area, to combat property crime, which is the most prevalent crime reported in Corktown.'
HR is no help
Hello, my team is being forced to RTO and I just found out I will be sharing my office space with a registered s*x offender. I’m not sure what to do, I already asked HR not to send me to the office because I don’t feel comfortable with this.
Enjoy your new safety standard
The veep of corporate environment and his analyst are certified donkeys. Operations and maintenance now have one standard for safety while lab personnel have another. The double standard is bad enough but the actual standard is stupid as well. This will not improve safety and will only deter anyone from wanting to do more for safety. Mark my words, off shift, places that are rarely visited, they will follow this as much as people follow the no looking at your phone rule or the use hand rails rule. They should be fired immediately but they won't. Bilbo will probably give them all promotions saying they saved everyone. Stupid people making stupid rules.
First recall of 2026!
Let us all raise a glass to the first recall of 2026! Let the season begin!

What a tragedy and disgrace
https://nypost.com/2025/12/27/us-news/dad-of-slain-cvs-worker-edeedson-cine-said-son-spent-final-morning-with-family-before-fatal-shift/
Absolutely horrible response by this company towards law enforcement and the victims property considering this happened at one of their stores on Christmas.
Ford shatters decade-old recall record with 152 safety alerts issued in 2025
Congratulations everyone on a job well done ! Lets try for 200 in 2026.

management is delusional
my point has gone so far down hill.we have half the carmen we're slotted for.senior guys have decided to resign rather than put up with the neverending piles of b.s.younger folks have quit because they see no future hear.most days yard repairs are down because we have a conscious and don't want guff for trains going out late.it seems like an injury is bound happen.but for now the trains aren't going out late so whats the issue?
Nobody is safe
The estimate for 2025 is around 10K jobs cut in total. We can only assume WF will stay the course in 2026, or more likely, things will get even worse. Keep your resume updated and try to skill up in the meantime, though I’m not convinced skills even matter anymore, given how disproportionately WF has been letting go of skilled and competent people. Never take your eyes off job opportunities. The market is already tough, and it’s likely to get tougher.
We’re in for a rough ride, and we all need to think about ourselves and our families first. Every time you feel the urge to work more or harder, stop and think about better ways to use your time and energy. You can be jobless overnight anyway, and being a good worker bee won’t save you.
Too dangerous to RTO in the Northeast
We received 9 inches of snow yesterday and the streets and walkways are full of ice.
There will be many falls, injuries, and lawsuits as a result.
A responsible and reasonable corporation would have advised their employees to stay safe and work from home.
At least I punched the clock!
Looks like Vena has the AAR in his back pocket

OSHA
Does any of y’all know f we can call osha over this situation? We work at a place where second amendment has made employees carry and where we don’t have an outlet to report things to tested leads. I have never seen it this bad and they have not fixed Montgomery from what a relative these tells me. What do y’all thing? Can I?
Any info yet on ACA enrollment trends?
I know it is predicted to be lower, maybe significantly so without the extension of the subsidies. And is it fair to say Medicaid is mostly safe until 2027?
Short term thinking is sinking Dell
Everything here is built around the next report instead of building something stable. People keep saying we matter, but the decisions never match the words. Offshoring set off a slow slide that everyone felt right away. The culture has not recovered since, and it shows in every corner of the place.
idk about anyone else here but, I use a double VPN when I post/comment here
Maybe I'm paranoid but better safe than sorry... I pick a random country. Could be Sweden, maybe Germany, or maybe Albania. I'm in Canada but idk, I like to be a tad harder to trace just in case :)
In the news - typical USAA...
Employee raises safety risk after third occurrence. Met with gaslighting and firing. Clear from the video that it happened:
https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/his-g-n-just-went-off-guard-says-sig-p320-fired-unexpectedly-at-usaa-guard-gate
Typical USAA! distrust employees and don't fix. RTO doesn't fix leadership attitude.
Global Real Estate
Is the GRE group safe?
EMEA GNT and VBG out of hook
Received email from Sanjiv, EMEA part of orgs above are safe.
Future vendor meets = safe?
My AD contacted me and He asked to schedule a meet with some vendors next week. Was this BAU and pretending nothing is going on or a sign of being safe?
FMLA
If i am on FMLA, am i gonna be saved?
I’m a rep at a high preforming store
Am I likely safe? My store typically performs well and we’re in the Atlantic South. I’ve been with the company for 2 years. Does anyone know anything concrete?
