NIKE IS PLAYING PREVENT DEFENCE!!

any company in the world, after certain growth it becomes mature, lackadaisical, entitled, and full of you know what! That is where Nike is and stuck!!
Unable to crawl out of sh4t pile that they slipped and fell.

EH just joined Nike when they came out with "Just Do It" campaign because they were young and hungry while living on the edge. Now, JDI means how to print on the T=shirt and sell it for $25.00 when it cost only $3.00 to produce.

Nike only know how to play prevent defense and that will prevent you from winning.
According to dearly departed John Madden

confidentiality and non-solicitation agreement.

Has anyone NOT signed their agreement? I wonder who all received this agreement- was it the entire company?

I received a wonderful, threatening email today saying we have to sign by 6/30 or you will not be eligible to receive pending or future LTI awards. I’m a bit confused why this is being rolled out now. No new role, no new job, not even customer facing. Simply put: I don’t believe this is even applicable to our role but there is definitely triggering language in there NOT specific to customers rather generally speaking ‘confidential information’ which seems like they are trying to give employees a gag order for retaining/documenting information (not customer related) to protect themselves by preventing employees from documenting their shady ways. Curious your thoughts….

Advice

Windstream/Kinetic employee here looking for advice or feedback on all your former leaders coming over here. They are not making friends and ripping the company that we spent nearly a decade building apart. They have come in like a wrecking ball and it seems if you are not part of their inner circle then you don’t mean anything to them. They might be smart folks but their people skills are awful and the only opinions they care about are their buddies they brought over. Are you happy they are gone or do you miss them? Help me understand my future lol

Tariff Refunds

Now that the Tariff refund portal is open for the as-deemed unconstitutional, "Liberation Day / Reciprocal Tariffs" from a year ago, Canon USA will be fully eligible for likely hundreds of millions in refunds for all the imports from Japan. We know those refunds won't go to the end users (because only Costco is apparently doing that). But the question is, will the employees see any of that? Or will it all just go into Canon coffers as backdated profits to make the shareholders happy?

Sadly, I think we know the answer...

The difference between healthy and sick

Watch how a company makes money. If they're healthy, they invest, they grow, they expand. Profits come from doing more. If they're sick, they cut. They restructure, they lay off, they squeeze. Profits come from doing less with fewer people. That tells you everything about where AT&T really stands.

Read your damn documents!

I know this is not layoffs related, but it's been bugging more and more since it's slowing me down and it might affect my future here. We send out docs ahead of time for every single meeting, but it’s obvious no one reads them. Then the meeting turns into reading the doc out loud and re-explaining everything. I don’t understand why we even bother sending materials in advance at this point. It's slowing down the meeting, everything takes longer, and I have less time to do my actual job. How hard is it to get to a meeting prepared??

Bridging former Verizon time

Hey,

If you worked at Verizon for 15 years in PA, moved to FL, then all the sudden VZ sells off to frontier, but then you quit after a few years on a Friday, start Verizon on a Monday, do you think Verizon will finally bridge the Verizon time again? Was told that since Frontier bought VZ, all VZ seniority ends, should you ever get rehired at VZ. Haven’t been able to bridge the time and have been denied, since in the language of the buyout, you can’t carry your time over, if he rehired. Been back at Verizon for about 7 years now in the same position as service tech, feeling robbed of time.

Did the White House Put Pressure on XOM to Sell Two Initial Cargos of LNG from Golden Pass LNG?

Exxon pulls offer to sell two initial Golden Pass LNG cargoes - Reuters

Exxon Mobil (XOM) has withdrawn an offer to sell two initial cargoes of liquefied natural gas from its Golden Pass export plant in Texas that has been in the process of starting up operations, Reuters reported Thursday.

Who is running this company?

I have never seen a more chaotic and poorly managed business in my long career. Letting go of some of your best and hardest working people never ends well. If the Board and CEO were trying to streamline the company, they failed miserably.

My advice: Bring back the good, hard-working people who were let go and fire the CEO.

Kinston-Vernon park mall 449 store manager position

The position is being described as “an amazing opportunity” in a “winning company”

The reality is you will be working at a store in a dead mall from the 1970s.

A mall parking lot with creators in it that can swallow your car

A store full of mold and rodents

A skeleton crew of employees
