Mar 1st is when the funding of the US pension will be announced. What are the chances in underfunding, forcing everyone to take the annuity vs the 50% lump sum? Did they really back date the last notice when the took the 100% lump sum down to 50% option away?

Leach Botanical Garden announced layoffs and reduced operating hours. Eleven staff members, half its workforce, will be laid off on February 22. Starting February 26, the garden will open Thursday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. The garden needs to raise $50,000 monthly through June to remain open. This funding gap follows the end of time-limited city operational support.

COSI and the Ohio History Connection recently experienced layoffs. These job reductions contribute to a wider nonprofit sector crisis. Eroding federal funding exacerbates these challenges for organizations. COSI laid off 15% of its staff due to attendance and funding issues. The Ohio History Connection also reduced 30 full-time positions.

What happened with the big push to move everything to this “new wonderful tool”? I’ve seen a couple apps move, but it seems that forward motion stopped a couple years ago? Any insight other than funding? Seems we’re paying for both now, Service Now & legacy apps?

RapidDeploy develops mapping software for 911 and emergency agencies. The company has secured 10 statewide contracts and serves 1,500 911 centers. Separately, legal tech firm CS Disco Inc. announced layoffs impacting 62 employees.

Looking through my team tonight, it appears that we are nearly fully funded. Merit is 2.5-3.0% and bonuses at 100%. Stock seemed a bit lower, but not too crazy.

Seattle Children’s Hospital will lay off more than 150 workers this fall, blaming the cuts on the loss of federal funding.

The hospital confirmed Wednesday that 154 employees will be laid off and 350 open positions will be eliminated, effective Nov. 15.
