Only sales to get impacted and in very small numbers

Layoffs happened last Monday. Not sure what the count was or what orgs were hit exactly but they happened. I know one person was in FED tech support, though. And a few other in I think SRO, whatever that org is. I'm sure ISG/CSG was hit like usual as well lol.

With the rollout of Maverick VERY quickly approaching, I feel confident that a lot of the "main" people involved with the project will be let go after "go live." I hope not but, I do feel their time is limited.

The original deadline and "due date/go live" date was early February and that was missed by 20 miles. JC sent out a heated email stating that it will not be pushed back again. He was PI---D.

I still don't think it will be remotely ready for the May release but, not my problem. As per usual, it will be forced upon the workforce half broken, or barely working and with little to no training; and the poor unfortunate souls who have to use these tools will be blamed for not knowing how to use them.

With an NDA project so close to the go-live date, it'd be ignorant and stupid to layoff anyone heavily involved but, once it rolls out into production? The job is "done" and those people are no longer "needed."

The "lead" of the entire project is a mo--n to put it nicely and well... NC better start putting a resume together. I would be anyways, had I been the main, or one of the main dawgs in this NDA.

I've only been at Dell for like 8 years but Maverick is easily one of the biggest CF projects of them all.

And all I feel is relief. I'm honestly glad I stuck through all the attrition so I could leave with a severance. Good luck to everyone still there. The sooner this place is in your rearview mirror, the better off you'll be.

I heard the Command Center and Help Desk departments were recently outsourced before the New Year? And now from seeing this site, it seems that a lot of departments are being slashed? Wow. How is this affecting the day to day operations with the app support and daily prod processing that was always deemed critical?

Any trickle down effect for this? Looks like some people on the list is a surprise.

Fewer South Florida workers were affected by layoffs. This occurred during the first quarter of 2026. The overall impact of these job cuts was smaller. However, one specific sector still led in job reductions. The total number of workers facing job cuts decreased.

All Amazon Fresh stores in the state will close. These closures take effect this Sunday. Amazon operates these grocery locations. The company plans to expand its Whole Foods brand. This decision impacts all Fresh grocery stores statewide.

Walmart is closing two fulfillment centers. One facility is in Matteson, Illinois, and another is in Worcester, Massachusetts. These closures will impact 201 employees in total. Today VZ UK got an update. The impact is expected to be well over 100 people, but consultations will go well into May and maybe summer.. FR is beating around the bush, restructuring reasoning seems to be mixed up. might work against them (the firm, not employees). BE got an update last week, more than 50 people on the block, impacts expected May to June, probably sales and product will be the first to go. DE is still pulling its head out of its ar-e, no real updates, but then again we're talking about the country that still uses faxes and cash. i've got next to no work and sales has disappeared. all I can say is ALL ABOARD HERE COMES THE SEVERANCE EXPRESS!

Toy giant Mattel, the maker of Barbie and Hot Wheels, is laying off employees from its El Segundo headquarters, according to a notice to state authorities.

The company is expected to permanently lay off 65 employees from its headquarters located at 333 Continental Blvd in El Segundo, Los Angeles County, according to its official WARN notice.

Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) Act, employers are legally mandated to provide a minimum of 60 days’ notice prior to plant closures, mass layoffs, or major relocations. The notice gives local agencies and staff time to prepare, according to WARN.

Mattel submitted the documentation on March 23, 2025, and it was processed the following day. The layoffs will be effective from May 22, 2026, the WARN filing showed.

This is the second time Mattel has laid off employees from its headquarters within a few months. In January 2026, the company laid off 89 employees, according to WARN filings.

Citing a Mattel spokesperson, a news report by Los Angeles Business Journal said that the layoffs in January were part of its effort to restructure its global brands team.

Most of the impacted employees held senior or executive positions, including significant roles on Barbie, action figures, and games teams, the report added.

In March 2025, Mattel laid off 120 workers from its headquarters, most of whom held positions like manager, director, and vice president, according to a Los Angeles Times report. The job losses were part of the cost-cutting effort as the company focused on maximizing its profits.

Citing Mattel spokesperson Catherine Frymark, the news report said that the company was targeting $200 million in cost savings by 2026.

Earlier layoff notices showed that Mattel reduced 439 employees from its El Segundo headquarters since 2020, according to the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Will Optum Advisory be impacted by the 04/30 layoff cycle? Seems like we have dodged many cycles with minimal impact as we are most of the time pure profit, except people who are on the bench, so they are typically the ones cut if OA does have impact. Any insight for 04/30 cycle?
