Was laid off last Wednesday with the rest of the team. Was told HR would help with finding employment and it was encouraged to communicate with hiring managers. How can I communicate without slack/internal email? Also, I need remote employment and none of these other jobs offer remote. They simply don’t care about members and their own employees. So much for the culture and leadership. This place will go down. It is just a matter of time!

I am hearing we could see some major cuts tomorrow.

Amazon is closing all its Fresh and Go stores nationwide. This decision will result in 516 layoffs in the Sacramento area. Three local stores in Roseville, Citrus Heights, and Elk Grove are affected. The layoffs are effective starting April 28. Amazon plans to pivot its focus toward Whole Foods Market stores.

I’ve learned the hard way over my career that stressing over a job takes a devastating toll on your health and well-being. We also know performance has little to no impact on who gets laid off. Believing you can curry favor by working yourself raw, only to feel guilty later for not doing enough, helps no one. Do the bare minimum professionally, but don’t go the extra mile. Always be on the lookout for other opportunities. Don’t take anything personally, and stop stressing about office politics or the next potential layoff. Be good to yourself.

I hope it works out, because staying here just waiting for things to get worse until the axe falls is a disservice to yourself. I’d recommend putting your own interests first. Maybe the rumors about immediate massive layoffs aren’t true, but they are coming. Oracle has become a hot mess, and we’re the ones who’ll end up holding the short end of the stick.

Been told will end of Q3, all supporting roles, most of middle-management will be cut, and most of Presales - will go away too, and rest centralfised to Egypt. Savings everywhere. First they assessed all middle-managers M4, M5 and M6 if needed. And you know answer.
