Portland Craigslist currently has a lot of Nike Appeal for sale postings. The craigslist posters state their Nike appeal, they want to sale is new or never worn. All the people at Nike who know they are going to get a layoff notice soon are looking for quick cash and unloading their stash of Nike appeal they have been swiping at work for years now.

It absolutely doesn't matter how hard you work, how much overtime you do, or how critical your role is. There's no rationale for selecting people for layoffs beyond immediate profits. I suspect people claiming 2026 will be worse than 2025 are right. Act accordingly, so you won't have any regrets when they boot you anyway.

After talking with colleagues current and past, someone had asked does anyone know of statistics of people who declined the last VRP, only to be let go soon thereafter? As a band 4 for some time, seeing this all play out last year into this year it's uncharacteristic that last years offering of same, personnel had 30 days to make a decision whereas this year it's said they only have 10 days!

Who can make a life decision like this in 10 days..... And what about those in-betweeners..... 50 something but not yet retirement age? Many people here in the TN office have said that if you're on a list such as the VRP, you're undoubtedly on some other list somewhere else especially if you take the pass. Any cred to this?

George AND Paul should do everything in their power to not let engineering layoffs happen in these first 2 quarters…….George has to protect his reputation in this company and industry…..if he allows layoffs, Paul Gaske would be looked down by everyone at the company by lying to George if there is another round of layoffs…… Employees are not d-mb…..we DO NOT like being lied to……

Look, I'm over fifty and I've seen the cycles here. You bust your gut for years, hit your targets, and then watch rounds of layoffs target the highest pay brackets anyway. It really makes you question why you should pour extra energy into a place that seems to value your cost over your contribution. I can't relax, I can't watch my favorite shows, I can't even play with my kids without getting agitated. We're supposed to be able to rest and recharge our batteries over the weekend, not worry about the layoffs all the time and whether we're about to be jobless. I really hate this place.

Why is this not making the news ? Worst layoff possible. Got an email that role is impacted and to join a group meeting. Cam off, mic off, chat off, cant ask questions, no explanation of why and why you?? Cold and heartless.
