I just went on Facebook and typed in Centene in the search bar and quite a few people’s posts came up showing they were recently laid off. This was in the last week or two. So it looks as though things are happening behind the scenes and they are not going by a specific date like we all think for next week.

the final layoff
when you or someone you knew, earned the att life insurance benefit and someone claims it when you are finally laid off (dead) there is a posting in the obituaries that used to occur every month. either they have exhausted the life insurance fund or they have laid off the person who posted the monthly updates. nobody has died since last may according to the site. wtf.
Layoffs
Does anyone know which departments have already been impacted or might be impacted? I've been hearing a lot of rumors, and it doesn't sound good. Has anyone heard anything?
Library Faces Cuts and Reduced Hours
The Plainfield Public Library's Board of Trustees has explained significant reductions in operating hours and potential staff layoffs. These measures are a direct result of a 17% municipal budget cut, which effectively translates to a 34% reduction for the remainder of the fiscal year. The library's operational funding is not eligible for grants, necessitating municipal support. The board is actively working to preserve services despite the financial constraints. The city council is currently deliberating its final budget.

What's the worst you've seen at Dell?
I'll start:
I'll paraphrase because I can't remember the exact sentence but it was a director that said something along the lines that he will "get more involved" again after being a total no show for the least 5 years and later when the culling started fu---d over hundreds of people.
Hindsight is 20/20 but I really wish I'd asked him on that call what the fu-k he actually ment.
How long is the layoff period?
Do we know what the expected timeline is for the layoffs? I wanted to clarify if they are projected to happen just during August or if they will continue through the rest of the year.

Unemployment claim issues?
Has anyone else had issues filing for unemployment, specifically in Texas? I have filed two claims now (garden leave ended July 6) and just got a call from the TWC telling me that TMO has not responded to their requests for information, including "reason for separation." What kind of BS is that?
I was able to sort it out by providing information and documentation that I have, but that's not how it's supposed to work.
This company is falling apart at the seams. They laid off thousands and don't have the staff to support the unemployment funds that are legally mine?
More cuts coming
found out going to get cut this Friday.

Walmart to layoff more associates in San Bruno
Walmart intends to reduce San Bruno staffing mid to late August 2026. August has traditionally been a favorite month for Walmart to lay off associates.
No big deal, though. San Bruno is the leftover bastion from the failed merger, and this appears to be just more cleanup and wind down. There is some speculation, however, that other locations might be hit, as well. We’ll see as more info leaks.
If you were laid off recently, what reason were you given for why your role was redundant?
Just curious

Surviving isn't winning
I survived so many layoffs, but I also watched people who gave everything get walked out like criminals. This place has a tendency to reward loyalty with a cardboard box. Now I come in, do the minimum, and spend my real energy on job applications and training courses. I'm not waiting to be the next one they discard.
