That's all this latest rumor is about. You buy a company, you get a chance to get rid of redundant positions, and somehow the number of such positions is always huge. As if not all of them are redundant, but were somehow marked as such because, why not use the opportunity to the max?

Severance
Is it going to be the same as the last time? I'm hearing there might be some reductions, but I truly hope that's not true.
When will it start?
Usually layoffs happen between Tuesday and Thursday (I have no idea why those days seem to be so layoff-friendly). What are the chances this begins on Monday?
Rumors about September
September is coming in hot. Hug your coworkers, motivate and encourage each other, update your portfolios, and keep your heads up.

They are removing all Medic / First Aid boxes from breakrooms from the Plano campus buildings
The rumor is that, although they have been on the walls offering antacids, ibuprofen, band aids, etc for a decade, it seems there has been an influx of new people that seem to think they can steal all of the single serve medicine packets and supplies every time they restock the supply boxes, so they have just decided we can no longer be trusted and they are removing them entirely...
Thank you thieves and exploiters... this is why we cannot have nice things!
The rumored Union EISP will disappoint alot
The current rumor now puts a EISP offer potentially in October for 4th quarter. But let’s face it the union people costs are already built in the expense for the next 4 years. The company knows by the then most will leave empty handed. So what I hear in New Jersey especially with Multiple fiber builds going along with many different network transformation projects there will not be some across the board massive EISP offered .The head count is not there any longer along .Coupled with the fact the company has the ability to just shuffle people around pretty much to anywhere in the State they need them to work the projects. The 30 mile rule the way it’s laid out would take you border to border in any direction.I have no idea about NY they may be different.Along with more then likely a number of offers to inside type people .So good luck ,but don’t hold your breath or base your future off Rumors of a huge pay day .
New round of RAs?
Any news about new round of RAs in September?
Done with layoffs?
Now that the DCG was booted, are we done with layoffs for a while? Or are the rumors of a 60000 headcount true? I told my friend at work he was just being paranoid, but I don't know what to trust anymore

17 Products Up For Sale?
There was a post on the r/IBM Reddit page this morning that has since been removed by the executive team's flying monkeys. The post discussed 17 products being sold by IBM to Persistent and didn't go into further detail as the person who posted it was worried about being outed. Has anyone else heard this rumor?
Is the L3Harris scandal about to hit 3M and Bill Brown?
Some interesting chatter is coming out of Florida this week.
Word on the street is that the independent investigation into ousted L3Harris CEO Chris Kubasik isn’t just looking at his recent behavior. Apparently, investigators are digging into old HR complaints from 2021-2022 to see who else knew what was going on.
As most of you know, 3M CEO Bill Brown was the Chairman of L3Harris back then and engineered the merger with Kubasik. The rumor going around internal circles is that some senior executives are worried paper trails or emails might surface showing that Brown was warned about Kubasik's conduct years ago.

Not good for 3M if true. I hope it's not true.
My whole team in Europe is on PIP...
My whole team in Europe is on PIP...
We were put on a PIP after being classified as low performers. There are about 15 of us, and we don’t know why we’ve all been put on it together. We assume the idea is to fire us afterward, since we haven’t been given any further information other than being told to meet the PIP objectives. However, we’ve been hearing rumors that we’re going to be fired in a month.
Is Monday WFH happening?
Keep hearing rumors about working from home on Mondays getting approved. Anyone have any updates?
PIP ??
I have never seen anything official announcing that a PIP process would be enforced on the lowest ranked 5% in the new performance system.
Where did this all come from ? … or is it all rumour mill ?
True or False?

Is RTO Finally Starting to Crack?
Rumor around HQ today is that easing the 5x RTO policy is actually being discussed and could be on the horizon. If true, it would be about damn time.
The employee feedback has been clear. The commute is draining, morale is in the toilet, productivity has drastically decreased, and the policy is making AT&T less attractive to the exact talent it needs to retain.
Rumor is leadership is finally realizing that forcing everyone into an office five days a week wasn’t the brilliant strategy they thought it was.
Nothing is official, but if this actually happens, it would be a pretty big admission that 5x RTO went too far.
Fidium
The rumors are legit. Talks ongoing for Uniti to acquire Fidium.
TPD layoff or reorg ?
I have been hearing rumors that TPD may be completely dissolved and merged into VCG, GTS, and VBG. Does anyone have any insights on whether this is accurate? If so, what is the expected impact on the current leadership team?
8 hour requirement - RTO
Anyone else catching wind of HR cracking down on the required hours in office? I heard a rumor of a VP having a discussion with some salary ACs and told them 8 hours in the requirement. 1. Why are they literally bringing down the hammer? 2. I’ve never once stayed longer than 6 hours in the 6 years I’ve worked there. 3. Why are salary workers being mandated to stay for a certain amount of time? You’re paying them to do a job; not to do something for a set amount of time. I’m so sick of this bs. How can HR be okay with something for YEARS and then decide it’s no longer OK to leave early. Loosen up the handcuffs a little, jfc.
Finance org
What does the future of the FP&A org look like at VZ? Any rumors?
