They want us to quit

It has never been this clear. The constant stress, the worrying, the intentional withholding of information, all of it feels designed to push people to the edge until they finally say fu-k it and quit. If they can get enough people to simply walk away, it saves them a lot of money. At this point, it is hard not to think that this is part of the plan.

Mental Health at 3M

It appears to me there are many 3Mers who are struggling with mental health issues. The constant layoffs, increased workloads, toxicity, harassment, micromanagement, etc. seem to be taking a toll on so many of our colleagues.

The colleagues I spoke with have high anxiety, depression and more. The abuse and harassment triggered PTSD in at least one senior manager.

I am wondering if anyone else is seeing similar issues within their teams?

Please be kind with your responses. I was reluctant to bring up this issue but believe mental health is important and an issue that needs to be addressed by 3M.

toxicity

My mgr got axed... and now I report to an offshore manager who doesn’t really understand what I do. doesn’t even try to... most of the time it feels like she just tells other people to do the things my old manager used to handle.Since all that happened the place has gotten a lot more and more and more toxic, with more offshore managers showing up while the people who actually cared about the work keep getting laid off and everyone keeps talking about AI like that’s the answer to everything.it will never be the answer. horrible.

Toxic Incompetence

The most toxic workshop culture I've ever seen with ill-fit incompetent management. More, More, More. Angry employees taking it out on one another. Do you think the execs know how it is down here? Horrible attrition, and still layoffs every 2 weeks. I used to be an over achiever, doesn't matter here, you'll only pick up the slack of the duds, bare minimum it is.

Has anyone else noticed how strange people seem at work lately?

I do not remember it feeling like this before. There is a level of fakeness that feels excessive. Conversations that feel transactional. People who can be vindictive, rude, and in some cases honestly cruel. Not openly aggressive, just quietly cutting. It's really kept pulling on me.

I do not have these issues outside of work. That is what makes it unsettling. It makes me wonder if something about the environment changes people, or if I was just naive for a long time.

I had a rough year, so I have tried to account for that. I have tried to tell myself maybe I am just more sensitive right now. But it feels bigger than that. Over the last few years I have slowly lost faith in the culture here, and what scares me most is feeling that cynicism creep into how I see people in general.

I do not want to believe this is just how people are.

Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just me?

I want to repost this because how accurate it is

Listen up people, we need to clear up this toxic work environment by documenting and reporting. First start with HR. Then legal.

Or just go straight to legal.

This is a comment I came across from a thread posted not to long ago. Thank you to the OP if you are reading this. It sad to say but it brings comfort for the misery and he-l I am in. Major karma points for you and blessings.

“It’s almost as if you wrote my story, though I’m in the middle of the mess. You absolutely know when there’s a target on your back. You absolutely know when you are shunned and isolated. You know when there is backstabbing because others are insecure and need someone else to blame. And all of it takes a toll. If you speak up, it’s used against you somehow. “Not a team player”, “these are areas you need to grow in”. If you don’t speak up you end up in a slow and silent downfall, and then that’s used against you, with the same line “not a team player”.
So I’ll just add one piece of advice to everything you’ve shared, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!!!! Move in silence and keep factual note. Screen shot conversations, use Copilot, write down face to face interactions daily.”

My honest take on working at HCSC

Between the constant cost cutting and the obvious favoritism, this place is tough to navigate. If you're not in with the right people, your work just doesn't seem to matter. Leadership feels disconnected and the culture has turned pretty toxic. I wouldn't recommend coming here based on what I've seen.

3 Year Freedom Anniversary

Three years ago today I was released from the bondage of a toxic, unhealthy labor environment…. Yes I choose to work there for 20 years with the mindset that it will get better. IF you’re not appreciated financially for what you do then LEAVE! They don’t deserve your talents.
Next step… to make sure the public knows that they were found guilty on three charges of Military Discrimination… yes you heard me!!! Maybe a Presidential Complaint (that is where you file a complaint against … fill in blank) is on the horizon.. :)

People solutions more like people problems

I have lost track of the number of times I have witnessed misconduct from hr/people solutions. Their sole purpose is to protect management/c-suite at all costs. Don't waste your time with them. Ignore the bad behavior until you can't take it anymore and decide to take your talents elsewhere.

Todays Town Hall S H I T Show

I have never in all my life listened to as much garbage or side stepping than covered in today's town hall. So many people unhappy. What really annoys me is that AB stood up and talked complete garbage and did not answer any of the job title or other HR queries at all. It is very clear a large portion of employees are unhappy, and guess what Pearson really do not care. Time to jump from this sinking and toxic ship.

3 Stooges Smiling on Insider

Who are the 3 stooges smiling on the main picture on Insider this week? The ear to ear grins on the center and left guy look so fake.

This is what is wrong with our company. We have so many fake employees at our company who act as hype squad for our fiber growth, wireless net adds, convergence, etc.

You realize the company doesn’t care about you? I cannot stand these teacher’s pets.

Being a psuedo-NTT employee

We may get our paychecks from NTT and have an NTT email address, but we're still the serfs or property of the 'Other company'. Nothing has changed for us, other than throwing a couple of NTT managers into the mix. The toxicity, gas-lighting and manipulation hasn't gone away, infact there is little more of it from the NTT side now.

Also it has become apparent that there are different variables or opportunities that come into play as compared to a real NTT employee. And that is we have none. Instead of being mentored or given the opportunities to further the paths of our own choosing. Obstacles are thrown in our way and under the table deals are forged to prevent one from pursuing anything other than what has been dictated or desired by those above us.

Should you voice your concerns or issues to a manager. Expect the repertoire of how everything is your fault and have your tried to find employment with another company.

If one could sum it up, it would be in the song 'Hotel California'.

This culture has gone from best to toxic

Been part of the green eco system for over 8 years but this is the first time in my tenure I can say Fidelity work culture, ethics and associate satisfaction is going down the drain.

Managers are making associates "compete" resulting in instances of everyone fighting to be "visible" within the team, creating animosity between team members, favoring their own pets.

I am not in the same region as my manager so I am one of the lucky ones to feel the heat, after being back to exceptional performer, I'm facing sudden hostility, goal / KPI which makes absolutely zero sense and on top of that feeling burnt out with no appreciation at all.

I am wondering if any other BU's facing similar issue?

I am level 7 Wealth associate (tech lead)

I won't complain if I'm let go

I certainly don't wish for anyone to lose their job. I just want my severance so I can be on my way. This place has been toxic and utterly exhausting. There's only so much you can endure before it erodes your well-being. There's a whole life I've been missing out on for years. Don't ever let work monopolize your mind and time. The sacrifices never truly pay off in the end.

There will be...

...more heads rolling in OKC than Houston, even after 6 layoffs Devon is still way over staffed by a bunch of su-k ups doing 20% of the work and drowning the small majority doing the other 80% of the work. If this offends you, you must have gotten greater than 2% cost of living increase for being a yes man boot li---r

I'll never understand all the secrecy around layoffs

Why is it so hard to tell us in advance, or at least confirm which orgs will be affected? It's as if the goal is to keep us perpetually on edge. Do they truly believe this constant fear of losing your job somehow makes us more focused and productive? The vibe in my office has been toxic for months. I dread coming in now more because of the atmosphere than the actual work, which is stressful enough on its own.
