I was part of the mass layoffs in December. The other day I received an email from a recruiter about a few contract to hire openings that they felt I’d be a good fit for. They found my resume on one of the job boards that I’m using. I stated that I... — read more
LIVERPOOL (Pershing) Closure
I heard the Liverpool Pershing office is closing down (Relocation, poss Manchester?) I just wondered, if it's accurate, what people's experience was of these layoffs/relocations outside the US. Is it as heartless? Poorly communicated? Forced "false"... — read more
Anyone wants BNY WILLIAMS MERCH
That's that, anyone EXITED for the new merch. Nobody really has anything better to do.
Be careful if located in OBP
I think most floors (business units) have heard whispers about relocating away from downtown Boston as a cost savings measure. One Director on my floor had their employment very swiftly terminated this week as they apparently shared what they knew... — read more

Morale is in the gutter
You can feel it everywhere. Nobody believes in leadership anymore because they haven't gives us a reason to in a long time. The ship is sinking fast and everyone knows it. If you're not job hunting, you're one of the few who isn't.
Life After BNY
Curious to know where folks have landed after being laid off and if anyone ran into trouble going to a new financial institution. Sometimes I feel like BNY being on my resume is more reputational harm than good
BNY survivors
I left BNY and every day I'm thankful. What you all are going through to this day sounds awful. I hope you all find something better soon. You deserve it.
December Layoff Separation Letter
I know there’s a good bit of you on here that were let go in early December and were sent that BS separation letter to sign. My question is: if we agreed to sign it, that meant we stayed “employed” until March 31st and that would be our last day of... — read more
Keeping incompetent staff and mgrs
I’d like to know the logic upper mgmt and the executive committee has about letting go of good tenured staff for bullsh-t reasons such as wfh status they caused while thinking the company will benefit greatly from staff and mgrs who cant do sh-t and... — read more

Don’t use Eliza!!
Every time I walk around the office and see anyone with Eliza on their screen I just shake my head. Beside the fact that it’s not very good, I think it would be quite amazing to see the EC crash out if they saw a fat 0% use rate when they obsessively... — read more
Is this a real 'policy'?
VP II here, or as they call it now VP. I saw a SR VP position posted that was listed as a 'pipeline' position. They shouldn't list positions they aren't actually hiring for currently but I digress. I applied to it and let the hiring manager... — read more
Why are ALL sr directors AHs?
I don’t even care if I give myself away on here, because I need to say this. Over time, I’ve noticed a consistent pattern in how several senior directors operate, I’ve seen certain leaders target employees outside their own unit through gossip, and... — read more
The forced cheer is exhausting
We're stretched thin, underpaid, and drowning in work, but they keep organizing these mandatory happy events. Last month our manager brought snacks while pretending our 60-hour weeks don't exist. Is this just us? If not, does anyone actually feel... — read more

‘The Office’. How does this make sense?

Layoffs every 3 months?
As we just had layoffs the other day, do we expect to have layoffs in another three months? There’s a rumor of restructuring at the end of may which would coincide with this. Anyone else heard of this?
What about hiring
Is it just us, or is the hiring ban only 'optional' for certain teams? Anyone heard when they’re planning to unblock reqs? It's a nightmare now. We can't replace leavers

Enough with the layoffs!
You can’t expect people to perform while there’s a constant axe over their heads. Living like this all the fu--ing time is inhumane.
Todays layoffs

RTO model
Does it actually matter whether your RTO is ‘above model’ or ‘on model’? Because showing up 4 days a week is enough tiring. Going beyond that starts to feel like voluntary suffering.
How are more people not complaining about P-M
If you are a PO, PM, scrum lead, BA, RTE in P-M - how are you not losing your mind? The amount of administrative BS we have to do is pure insanity. I have no other word for it. How, on gods green earth, is this an efficient way to work?
