Anyone else hearing how big an impact today's layoff is/was? I know of at least 2 managers in the call center that were given 30 day notice today and were told there were a lot of others as well.

When do the layoff meeting requests start coming in? I'm hoping today is the day!

Do the direct managers have a say in which exact employee to cut or are they just handed a list of names and have to just execute without making any choices. How does it go about?

Is that certain? I'd ki-l for two weeks without this stress.

Rumor is, T-Mobile is going to start asking people to volunteer to separate and get the full severance.

I heard those who got laid off are the lucky ones, while PSP situation will be so dire the rest of us will actually have to pay to be here. Anyone hearing this too?

Market must’ve missed the memo about culture being built in the office.

Just got off the phone with my AD and I was told April 23rd there will be a 10% RIF across all departments within Verizon. They are going after highest paid workers now NOT based on your PAD or time served in the company. My AD wanted me to help develop a plan to put into play with the reduced staff starting May 24th.

The worse is yet to come. Ruckus leadership team is ruthless when it comes to cost cutting. We’re all an expense on their balance sheets.

Wondering how many are planning to cut ties this time around or just waiting for the inevitable ax to fall with layoffs

We’re eliminating a lot of people. The round of layoffs like always are getting swept under the rug. We’re just expected to keep our heads down and focus on generating more revenue.

A lot of managers in STS pushing all team members irrespective of their roles to showcase AI Agents and other AI stuff they have created and are using. A lot of boot-camps happening as well. Are they planning to cut roles soon?

West Orange Schools face a significant budget deficit. The district faces a $14-15 million deficit. At least 70 full-time positions will be eliminated. A 2.5% tax increase is included. Rising health benefit costs are a major factor.

Qualcomm will lay off 66 employees in San Diego. These layoffs will primarily affect engineering, cybersecurity, and IT roles. Marketing, customer service, and management positions are also included. The cuts impact 11 San Diego facilities, including the company headquarters. Layoffs are scheduled to begin at the end of next month.

FMS, that’s Mono pumps is apparently about to be sold one of its larger competitors!
If it’s true then it’s great that we will soon be managed more professionally but I’m sure it will lead to cuts as they have a lot of duplication of roles!

FP Markets has reduced its global workforce. Less than 7% of its employees were affected by the cuts. This action is part of a broader organizational review. The Australian-based broker previously employed over 300 staff. Other retail brokerage firms have also recently cut staff.

Austin ISD leaders propose teacher layoffs and cuts to academic programs. These measures address a projected $49 million budget deficit. The deficit could reach $181 million without action. Previous cost-saving efforts included closing ten school campuses. Board members will vote on the proposed budget in June.

This is the worst I've seen it since I started 16 years ago. There is no one steering the ship anymore. If there's still a captain, no one's listening to them. The norm is hurry up and wait. The culture is lies, fear, anxiety, confusion, frustration, and baffling. One good thing I recently heard is that a bunch of higher ups were let go, so someone up top is keen on trimming some of the upper fat. Maybe we will be lucky enough to get more DEI hires to replace them!

How in the he-l are we supposed to make money for these people when they keep hacking and slashing? Not only did we not even get enough hours to run the store, they just cut 2/5 of our full time staff? And they think hiring team leads will make up for that?

How can there be this many slackers still taking advantage of wfh? I hope the next series of cuts is purely for those that are not following policy. If management is serious about RTO, they should use their data to cleanly broom the folks that are not doing their part at this point and send a message. These cuts are long overdue. All of you real estate agents, photographers, off the books carpenters, and slackers in general could go and Ford would not miss a beat.

Everybody knows the abusers in their area - I personally like the analyst in our area that lives in a multi-million dollar house on the lake and comes into the office 2 days a week - Hey, she has a successful photography business to run!

The Mississippi Department of Health recently terminated approximately 30 employees. These layoffs included about 20 program leaders in preventive health and health disparities.
